I mean, I can’t even go for 5 seconds before going on a train of thought, it takes me some times a minute before I realize it and shut them down. I realize the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this goal is not to turn my brain off completely, but as it is now, it just looks like I’m trying to sleep but in a sitting position, and getting mildly annoyed at myself for thinking in the process, so it’s not doing much. So, I’ve been thinking what if I blast tf out of my ears with some noise, in such a way that i can’t even hear my thoughts? Would anyone advise against that as being as good as not meditating or something like that? Don’t worry about noise levels, my earbuds won’t let me go to a unsafe volume even if I tried. I also not going all the way up, just enough so I need to concentrate to think through it. I did an experiment today in the morning and it was the first time I didn’t check the time while meditating. (I’m doing 15 minutes)
Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt: A Provocative Statement in Modern Fashion
I also tried with rain noise, not at a high volume, but I found I was focusing too much on the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this different sounds, instead of just clearing my head. Meditation is about getting lost in thought, recognizing that and bringing the mind back to the object. Learn to accept your mind wanders and it will do it less and less. when you get restless and want to check the time, let the restlessness unfold and feel it fully. then go back to the breath and get restless again and again. Meditation is accepting the present moment. Restlessness, getting frustrated, wanting to change position are all born out of a certain longing for things to be different. learn to sit with that feeling and it will lessen. Sometimes it helps me to think of meditation like a workout. Once you get really good, you’ll quiet your mind more easily, but in the beginning, it’s natural to get easily sidetracked. Every time you bring yourself back to the present, and your focal point, think of that as a rep. You just built the muscle a little that refocuses your mind. No recriminations necessary- you’re getting stronger and everyone starts somewhere. Meditating with ADHD is hard, but there are people who succeeded, you can find some threads here too if you search. The key is that you develop concentration first. Don’t even try to be particularly mindful, just decide to take a meditation object and then try to stay with it. This requires metacognitive awareness, i.e. the ability at any time to assess your mind and know what’s going on there. So, pick any meditation object (e.g. your belly rising and falling with the breath, or breath itself, or an image you put in front of yourself, or whatever is of interest to you), and then try to keep being focused there. Whenever you get off track, simply notice that, and then go back to the meditation object. They key is initially to slowly increase your intensity of concentration, not by simply trying harder, but by increasing your inner interest in the object. It’s similar to watching an interesting movie which captivates your attention. While watching a movie you usually don’t have a tough attitude to be concentrated, but rather an inner curiosity towards what is being shown there. Try to develop this type of curiosity towards your chosen meditation object. To do so you can try to look very, very closely at the meditation object, and notice as many tiny details about it over time as possible. For example, is there a gap between the in-breath and out-breath? Where does the in-breath start and where does it end? Same with out-breath. And so on.
Goal would be you have 1) full attention over 2) an extended period of time for 3) most of the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this time (e.g. 80% of time you stay concentrated). When you achieve that, then you can start adding mindfulness to the mix. But I think I got it, gotta start slower than that. I will try the meditation object tech next, sounds better than just trying to not think at all. The biggest hurdle starting out (and pretty much at every level) is how you treat the different parts of yourself. Unhealthy = a thought comes up, try to reject the thought, thoughts about how it’s not working come up, shame yourself for still having thoughts, the thoughts get stronger. Healthy = a thought comes up, allow the thought to exist in the background as breathing becomes the foreground of attention, dis-identify with whatever comes up and just be the observer, have compassion for everything that arises in observation while coming back to breath I have ADHD/Autism, diagnosed. These techniques you are exploring are nonsense. I meditate for 2-3 hours a day everyday. You get good at it by trying less, stop trying to come up with some technique to trick yourself into meditating. You just have to sit there in silence and discomfort for however long it takes for you to understand that your resistance to sitting there is the problem, not any of the things you are doing or not doing. Just sit and accept the present moment, whether or not it’s comfortable.

This is a trick that worked for me and it’s realizing that this present moment is all at there actually is. Everything else exists in the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this mind. What’s real is this developing moment. That is all that there is. The noise isn’t going to solve anything. You need to stop resisting all those thoughts and just let them be there. It’s like an Asian finger trap, the more you pull away, the tighter it holds you. Accept whatever comes into your mind and don’t judge it or think of those thoughts as good or bad. Everytime you get lost in thought, the second you realize it just focus back on your breath. You’ll get better over time and the thoughts will start to slow down gradually. Don’t rush the process or it won’t work brother.
I haven’t been diagnosed with ADHD but I can relate to a lot of the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this struggles people like you would have. So I think I have some sort of understanding of your situation. The best advice I’ve ever received was to not try to quiet the mind, just let the thoughts be. Just don’t be too invested in them. If a thought pops up let it exist but don’t get consumed by it. Gradually and with enough practice, your mind will quiet itself as it will have no stimuli to cling onto. From personal experience of using white noise, it can help. I dislike having to focus on my body, so I focused on the noise instead. White noise makes me feel like I’m on a plane. Also, sitting through my mind’s and body’s resistance always proved fruitful to me, even if it took me over 1 hour to get to a peaceful state.
Meditation shouldn’t be self-torture. You need to give your monkey mind a job. Either focusing on your breath, focusing on sound, scanning your body. Make friends with your monkey mind, and it can become very useful. It can also help to name it. That personifies the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this monkey mind and can help build a better relationship with it. If you ever feel like you don’t need it down the line or would like a challenge, then you can go without it to see what happens. You are a unique individual with your own set of inclinations and needs, so I would say adapt things in a way that works for you. Ok, it definitely does something, I’m just not sure if it is because I’m focusing on the sound drowning everything else, or if I’m am actually relaxing my mind. I’ll just put this experiment on hold for now. But reading through the responses here, I’m now confident I can go back to the rain noises since focusing on them should not be an issue.
For how long have you been practicing meditation? It’s a long process, you can’t expect to see very dramatic results in at least a few months. Think of yourself as being a really fat person. You can’t expect to work out and have a six pack after a couple of weeks. Edit: but yes, all you need to do is notice that you are distracted, and return to focusing on your breath. It doesn’t matter if you were distracted for a whole minute, that is actually completely normal. Just relax and trust in the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this process. Like one week and a half? I tried with 30 minutes first? That quickly went wrong, and I’m not at 15, I feel like 10 is just too little even for me. My advice would be to try guided meditation for the first few months. Download an app like waking up or headspace and they will tell you what to do, and for how long, while you meditate. It’s like a 10 dollar subscription but worth it imo. Then when you’ve got the hang of it you can just cancel and delete the app.
Blasting your ears is not only dangerous for your hearing, it also means you’re not actually doing the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this training. I don’t think noise can drown out thoughts, but if it can drown out thoughts it can certainly drown out your focus on the breath. ADHD might mean you start with less ability to keep the mind on the breath than others. But make no mistake, others who have never meditated before without ADHD might go 7 seconds before getting distracted rather than 5. It’s just difficult. Try to relax, develop a sense of wellbeing just in meditating at all, and be patient with yourself. observe sounds. keep ur awareness on any 5 senses. but keep them on your senses and u will notice thought dissolving as all ur attention becomes preoccupied with your senses
This singing bowl audio. It has a bass tone that repeats about every 15 seconds. I breathe Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this in when I hear it, then exhale. Repeat. I find that an audio focus like that doesn’t shut off my brain; it’s kind of like when you listen to music while reading. Did you see Dr. K’s video on “Why Having ADHD Makes You Better At Meditating”? He argues that the crave for novelty (~getting bored) and perception sensitivity (~distractability) associated in adhd are an advantage in meditation. I do this all the time. Each ear is generated independently, most samples are mono and sound like you’re standing in front of a wall with both channels generated independently you hear the sound all around you with no spatial ques. I wouldn’t recommend external workarounds to that extent, especially those that could damage hearing even if you subjectively don’t notice or think that your devices will protect you.
Better to meditate effectively. Mental activity is closely connected with respiration. Ensure that your exhalations are longer than inhalations, at least until you get to the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this tranquil breath stage. This will naturally reduce mental activity. Remember that meditation is not just trying to observe, witness, note or notice your own thinking, your breathing or any external sensory input. That will just annoy you further. An alternative suggestion here: You may consider these practices to go along with your meditation or prior to developing a meditation practice. This is how the Buddha taught his students. Purify ethical conduct: Use the five precepts as a guideline to adhere yourself close to them – not killing, not stealing, not telling lies or idle gossip, not committing sexual misconduct and not using intoxicants that cause heedlessness
Dedicate to wakefulness: Practice a mix of walking and sitting meditation in the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this morning and evening before going to sleep These can be undertaken through everything one does during their day, including sleep and is a complete practice that takes one to gradually build up a steady meditation practice. You would like to build these practices as new habits, taking each one at a time until it becomes easy, automatic, second nature. No one? But I also think that thinking if I should buy a telescope or not for minutes is probably not meditating as well.. like you need to see this, my brain will just make the most stupid shit if allowed My dude, that is so totally, deeply normal. When you realize that you’ve been thinking about the telescope, and return your focus to your breath, body, sounds, etc, that’s meditation. If you want to use sound try using a binaural beats in the theta, alpha or delta range. These will help train your brainwave oscillation to a certain frequency and you can focus on the sound while allowing your thoughts to go on. Don’t get frustrated or discouraged because you can’t stop your thoughts or because you keep getting caught up in them. Just noticed when you do and go back to meditation. It’s a learning curve but binaural beats can help make that curve less steep. Keep coming back to your anchor (breath, spot on body, etc). It’s all about remembering to come back, and remembering to remember
Any noise, is going to make your mind wander, unintentionally. Any input at all, is going to break your concentration on not thinking. Quiet, relaxed, uninhibited. Then you can stop thinking. Practice. I’ve been doing meditation for years. You’ll get it down perfect, eventually!. i am tired of t shirt bros (and I count sweatshirts and sports shirts here) clogging up this sub with stuff that is 15 years old. I scored a lovely cotton voile floral print 50s dress with all (and I mean, like 1/2 dozen) original tags including maker, store, company that made the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this fabric, company that made the zipper, price tag, and a crinoline for $50 last summer (yes it fits) and these guys act like finding something that says 2002 is hot s*((&t – I laugh, but I’d love to find a sub where most ppl talk about more than this ) Officially so jealous right now. That’s more of what I want to see though, not multiple ‘is this super faded t-shirt I got for $5 worth anything?’ posts.
that sounds AMAZING! Please show that in a post! Where did you find it? I’m always curious where people find the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this good stuff I’m a huge Laura Ashley fangirl, and I had an alert set for a while, and this showed up – idk how they ended up tagging it as Laura Ashley – I wrote the seller to let them know, but then I just decided to buy it 🙂 Sounds like it was meant to be! I also am a big Laura Ashley fan, I just bought one to wear to a friends wedding and it’s perfect I’m tired of going to vintage markets and seeing a giant (to me, it’s actually really very tiny) on a shirt they’re advertising as vintage and have priced at $75 Some sellers in my area were doing 90s sports shirts popups, and they’ve now gotten their own dedicated retail space. They post videos on social media of actually ringing up the customers, like the cashier seems to be holding a phone and recording while ringing up one-handed and chatting with the customer. There was a video last week where a guy buys a 90s monster truck event t-shirt for $160. The cashier then records himself pulling the big wooden coat hanger out THROUGH THE NECK HOLE of a 30+ year-old shirt, then he FOLDS IT IN HALF DOWN THE CENTER OF THE GRAPHIC. How can your one business be selling old shirts and you’re that stupid about how to handle them?! Pardon my ignorance, what would be a better way to fold a graphic tee besides in half down the center? I’m an avid concert goer and I’m trying to preserve all of my shirts for as long as possible. Genuine question and looking for a tip, thanks!
Once me and my bestie planned a day to go check out all the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this vintage shops in the nearby big city, and were totally disappointed. The majority of it was old tshirts jeans and windbreakers. In the hours we spent out I found maybe 3 interesting dresses I love this thread! Okay, I hate all the t shirt bros, too. But what about the sweater bros? The ones that call a fifteen year old sweatshirt a sweater. It’s a sweatshirt. It’s not a sweater. A sweater has been knitted. It’s a male phenomenon that is widespread in the flipping and reselling world and in no way linked only to the vintage T shirt flipping bros. I mean it’s a regular thing for some guy to make a post essentially saying “I’ve been flipping for 3 months, AMA” and we all know the AMA phenomenon requires SOME sort of knowledge and not just ego. The last brag post was someone showing how they “made” $10k but after COGS it was really $1k (and didn’t even factor in any other business costs). It’s 100% a male ego thing, not based on any sort of acquired knowledge. I’m tired of t-shirt bros too. I kid you not I was at a thrift store and a group of them were all looking through the men’s shirts holding them up and discussing and calling each other over to look at their winners. Some of these were just college shirts, probably from early 2000s and them saying “I could probably get 30 bucks out of this one”
I get if you sell really good finds like a designer item or a higher end item, but selling an old t shirt, really?? I’m very new to resale and I’m honestly kind of shocked that this Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this is everywhere. I really thought it was just at my local bins lol
I dont know about heat, but i spent several lifetimes in Atlanta (the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this calendar tells me it was only 22 years) and i can tell you theyre packing some sort of attitude for sure. Racial tensions are high. Everyone hates on everyone else. Indians on Paks, whites on blacks, everyone on Asians and Africans, Southerners on Northerners and Californians, and all of that is vice-versa as well. No one trusts anybody. Atlanta has this deep-rooted problem that dates back to slavery. The city is largely black-run but the state is white-run, so the money flows from there, so guess what happens with it?. Cities want to break away from counties, new counties are always being talked about (but restricted by the constitution), and everyone thinks everyone else is drinking their milkshake. They tried to brand themselves as “the city too busy to hate” back around the turn of the century, but it was wishful thinking, “lamb lying down with the lion” style and it was shortly abandoned. Racist dogwhistles and even explicit comments are commonplace.
My friend was working part time as a cashier in a supermarket chain and he got robbed at gun point by two guys on was holding a 9mm and the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this other scumbag had a shot gun, all this for $230 in the cash register. He came back to India after that saying it’s not worth the effort. Now bro plays even GTA without firing any guns or hitting pedestrians.. and people say India isn’t for beginners That’s the norm especially at smaller convenience stores. Working in any small store in the US is usually not safe at all, especially near poorer or urban areas. Its only safe to work at larger establishments. At smaller venues it’s the norm for incidents like that to happen, sometimes multiple times a year at the same spot.
Student visa is very restrictive. You can either work on campus, or on an internship that’s related to your coursework. Literally everything else is illegal. While I feel bad for your friend, it was not worth the Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Checkmate shirt but in fact I love this effort since he himself was most likely working illegally (off campus work) and violating his F1 visa. That was 99 percent illegal work. There’s a reason students are not allowed to work part time anywhere outside campus If you work off campus , first – you are breaking your visa rules , and second – you are exposed to nontrivial danger (specially in non metro regions ) Is that how it is? In Germany every international student can work anywhere. Are there so many on campus jobs that all students who need jobs can find one there? In many places, there aren’t enough students filling on campus jobs. At my university they didnt pay particularly well so it wouldn’t have been hard to find an on campus job. The visa rules stipulate that international students can work up to 20 hours per week only in on campus jobs while the semesters are on. In the summers or winters they can do internships. (You cannot do full time internships/work and university full time at the same time) Different countries have different rules. If someone cannot support themselves without income from a part time job, that’s not the university’s responsibility. You have to sign and prove that you have enough money to support yourself without working.
