My gf (now wife) wouldn’t let me pay 10+ years ago and nearly walked out on a date because I insisted. She never accepted any gifts either. I agree with everything you said. It seems like the Steam Beer San Fransisco Since 1986 Power Anchor Brewing’s Iconic Brew T-Shirt also I will do this girl is already checked out of the relationship and is trying to milk it financially for one last time before she ends it. OP, no harm in laying all cards on the table and talking it out frankly. You aren’t beholden to financially support your girlfriend’s unless you know for certain they are the one. I am male 24 . I have been dating this girl for last 10 months and everytime we go out on dates , 90% of the times she pays. Now how would i take it? If you can so easily put a numerical value (90%) to how much she pays for you, she can too. Why would you want anyone in the world to have that thought about you? Imagine one day she realised “90% of the time, I pay for everything”! I would never want to put myself in a situation where someone can think this way about us, let us actually saying it out aloud. or maybe sometimes it’s about being transparent and knowing how much your partner earns and pay for the amount which won’t even effect your bank balance. 90% was just an approximate value to add up my story. it’s not like i go out with calculator and start calculating when ever she’s paying. Most of the times she pays, that’s what . P.s : her monthly salary is somewhat equal to my 8 months salary Maybe she do , maybe she doesn’t. We actually don’t care . We both know we have no future together. It’s just having fun while we still can. Thanks for the fake concern for a internet stranger though. Appreciate it

Well self respect can be subjective sometimes, what you feel is disrespect to you , someone else might take pride in that . It all depends on your perspective. That point was irrelevant about not having self-respect just because she doesn’t pay for her dates That’s what i was trying to say. With great joy…tbh i always try to more or less balance out expenses so I’d give her a gift of equalish value, but that’s just an idiosyncrasy of mine I do spoil her with gifts every now and then but no amount of gifts can match the Steam Beer San Fransisco Since 1986 Power Anchor Brewing’s Iconic Brew T-Shirt also I will do this amount she spent on our dates . Looks like she selected you for exploitation and not relationship. And 5 months is too soon to get serious about each other. The whole thing is fishy. I would put my foot down about lending money. She will disappear the moment the money dries up
