But I wanted to say, please try to remain compassionate. I personally have no idea what led to that much insecurity on his part, but it might be something traumatic. He might be deeply wounded to no fault of his own, so try your best to remain nice, as you part ways. There is no nice with this kind of thing. He will never let her go. The only way is to run and cut off all contact. Even then, he will try an immense amount of shenanigans to remain in control. Dont set boundaries, dont tell him how you feel, hoping things will get better. You need to listen to most of these smart people here and just pack your bags and move on. Even at this stage, he wont make it easy for you to do so. Go get your biggest guy friends to help you move. He wont try any of that blubbering baby bs then. Just get out now, dont fool yourself into thinking hes not one of those guys, because he is. He’s codependent. That ‘weird feeling’ is your gut telling you RED FLAG warning! They tell you they’re worried about you, want to know where you are for safety, to have you text them all the time if you’re doing something without them, make you feel bad if you don’t include them in everything. It is a control issue and it starts out small and then they add more things into the mix until you have the monkey on your back. Get out now before you have too much skin in the game.

He was almost definitely hurt really bad by a previous relationship, or has serious self esteem issues and thinks you are “way better than he deserves”. Give him a chance to explain. And above all DON’T ASK REDDIT FOR SERIOUS LIFE ADVICE. You can’t just spring on a fear like that. All of a sudden for no reason at all I have a crippling fear you might cheat on me. Please help! As someone who deals with crippling paranoia and anxiety, I can tell you that this isn’t going to get any better. This dude is probably worse than me. I know you want to make it work, especially because you two now live together, but I can tell you that these paranoid delusions he has will only get worse. The sobbing thing is what tells me more than anything that you’re dealing with someone with extreme emotional trauma most likely from being cheated on in the past. Not making excuses for his behavior, I’m just saying that he’s going to project his trauma, paranoia and insecurities onto you and then it’s going to be your problem. Not good. I wouldn’t say leave if u rly like him? I would say talk it out with him and tell him if he’s gonna act like that then you might needa rethink what you’ve gotten in to. these comments are a little extreme but it’s definitely weird of him to do that.
