get in writing within your new contract to meet a series of milestones, ie you meet the San Antonio Spurs Duncan And Robinson Signatures Shirt also I will do this target you get a bump in wage, otherwise it this just a dangling carrot that employers love to use to help them out of a bind, Additionally they should let you know how much this potential higher wage is, not just say you work now we discuss pay later, the world doesn’t work like that, do they buy their materials then discuss pay after… They should pay your for the role you’re performing and then if they determine you’re not a good fit then you go back to your old position and rate. What they’re asking is just not fair, fundamentally. There’s no way you should do this. It’s not like they’ll feel like paying more you once you’ve done the work for free. Everyone saying get it in writing are also missing the point – ultimately they can come to any conclusion that works for them. Who is going to adjudicate if they say you’ve missed your targets and you disagree?

I would also be suspicious about any future fuckery. Usually, losing a boss means larger changes are incoming and they’re looking for someone to take up the San Antonio Spurs Duncan And Robinson Signatures Shirt also I will do this slack temporarily. The only sensible counter-offer would be “make me acting manager for X months, with pay bump and then reinstate my previous role if you want someone else at the end of that term”. Never take on more responsibilty without renegotiating pay. Rewarding you with “opportunity” is a classic management tactic to reduce operating costs so someone, somewhere can get a giant bonus (usually shareholders). Please ask for a timeline at the very least in writing. If they don’t, then you know where you stand with them. I can’t comment on actions you could take as I don’t the office dynamics and how your upper management behaves. They can give you an acting up supplement. While you do the role, for a prescribed period of time, say 3 months. Then you discuss either going back to your old job, leaving as you’ve found out the higher ups are why your boss left or you negotiate a permanent salary and benefits package. At the market rate. Just keep doing your job and nothing more until you’re compensated. I love how they’d like to see how you’ll perform in a roll but refuse to compensate you for the extra work in that roll.
