I feel like people who “fully meditate” are either not explaining how to properly, or omitting the Retired 2023 Not My Problem Anymore Retirement Flowers T-Shirt and by the same token and the fact that you can never fully quiet your brain. I just don’t get it, realistically, your brain is constantly thinking/processing things. I can understand closing your eyes and trying to block out noise, but I can’t just snap my fingers and quiet my brain (practicing also does nothing when I don’t even know what it is I’m supposed to be doing). I’ve tried every app for meditation on the app store, have googled it, have posted to Reddit, looked at other communities, talked to others about it, and nobody/nothing is clear and concise on the steps to take to quiet your mind. What I’ve heard as of yet seems to be kind of hokey and vague.

Can anyone actually try to explain how to make your mind go blank? If I say “ohm” or anything else, that’s me focusing on that word.. not letting my mind go blank. I also don’t understand the Retired 2023 Not My Problem Anymore Retirement Flowers T-Shirt and by the same token and whole “bring yourself back to the present moment” because that only works for about 5 seconds before my brain goes a mile a minute again and I don’t even notice it is until I’ve been thinking about random shit for like 5 min and remember I was supposed to be trying to meditate. It just happens, without fail, every single time. I really don’t get it, and I’m at a loss for trying to work on my mental health and anxiety, meditation is my last resort and I’m just finding it incredibly difficult, it’s been years and years and years of me practicing.
