More like “meme meme meme meme meme meme meme”. story of 1, map design of 2, gunplay of 3. they’ve each got one piece of the puzzle. they have to combine their powers. Borderlands 1 was the best. Had the most satisfying guns I think. I did really enjoy borderlands 3 tho despite the cringy story I loved the first one more than the other two and it’s mostly because it felt more organic to me. You are looking for the vault, there really isn’t a central bad guy in the game, just a series of bad guys that you have to take out to get what you want. I hold the unpopular opinion that Handsome Jack is a poorly written character, completely just ‘bad for the sake of bad’. He got a bunch of retcons and rewrites in every piece of DLC and subsequent games as the writers tried to scramble and make him more than just a Snidely Whiplash sort of caricature. I agree with you. Handsome Jack, but for a few jokes here and there, is tedious (but people LOVE this motherfucker for some reason), and the plot is maddening. Absolutely love BL1. Hated BL2 for a very long time and by the end of the main story I felt I needed the golden chest to kill anything. Even common enemies. This is way back when it first came out though. Haven’t really played it since. And BL3 is just meh to me. The twins really annoy me but the gunplay and game dynamics are pretty fun. Much better than 2. But 1 is where it’s at and I always keep coming back to it. Especially Fyrestone I’ve been saying this for years and I get shit for it because everyone jumped on the bl train with 2 and think it’s the best thing since sliced bread or have this obsession with handsome jack. I’ve never had more fun, felt more like a badass building my character how I wanted, and felt more powerful than I did in borderlands 1.

Don’t get me wrong, bl2 fixed allot of issues the Reindeer and Northern Lights in Lapland Finland Vintage T-Shirt But I will love this original had but beyond that, it truely just brought the series down. In 2 and so on the guns never feel powerful, elements feel like water (when used by you), shields are seemingly made of tissue paper and drop if someone looks at you wrong, powers feel beyond weak, and the obsession with the story brings the game to a slog. I could go on but I’m gonna stop there. In short, after 1 meta took the series over and made it boring to play along with multiple things they decide to change. BL1 World building , BL3 gameplay and BL2 writing would be a dream come true. Also Rose romance from Bounty of Blood as pre-order DLC , please. Edit: someone mentioned that the gameplay got better with every game and I’ll give them that but something was lost with each new sequel. Bl1 had the best siren and the best smgs. Especially the slow rate of fire, steady, mid zoom ones that could melt people with elemental damage
