On the Queens Of The Stone Age The Clock shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this other hand, if your boss punches you in the face, and then the next morning you pick up a load of concrete, drive it off into a field, lock the keys inside, and then quit your job because your boss punched you in the face, that’s definitely going to an intentional act to destroy the truck and you would likely face a torts lawsuit accusing you of intentionally quitting in a way that you knew would destroy the truck. Second, people are neither reading the ruling, nor are they noticing it was a 8-1 ruling. I think the SCOTUS is tainted, but this ruling is not. Further, this is a ruling “to allow” a lawsuit… Last, keeping in mind IANAL, and the second point about “allowing a lawsuit”, your example brings in other issues and tortes that would trump neglect. Leaving b/c of safety, hostile, violent, etc work environment isn’t gonna be gross negligence. Well, maybe if it were a nuclear powerplant? While I actually do support the workers in this instance if they actually drove the trucks back to the yard, left the drums running, and informed management that they quit shortly after some jobs aren’t “quit at any time type jobs”

As a example I work as a airline pilot. I cannot quit while the Queens Of The Stone Age The Clock shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plane is in the air without serious consequences, probably legal ones. That is even more true for single pilot operations like cape air or in Alaska. No, you’re not. You have obligations. Not saying you need 24 months of notice, just saying you have responsibility. Ok, so the firefighter that makes sure the water and ladders work fine can just quit when their colleagues are in the building? Not that I necessarily disagree with your point, but those are terrible analogies. All of your examples puts other people at risk of harm, whereas leaving a truck full of concrete will just risk property damage. I don’t think that employees should damage anything intentionally, but it comes down to just that, intention. If the employees didn’t fill their trucks with the plan to abandon them and cause damage, then they should be able to quit whenever they choose. I’m not sure what the intention was in this case, but if I go to work planning on doing my job that day, but something happens that causes me to quit, then I don’t see why I should have any obligation to continue working just because you’ve reached a critical step in your job process, so long as it doesn’t put anyone at risk of harm.
