i was thinking this. like it’s not racist but i’ve notice most white people unnecessarily use race as a description when that person isn’t white. “i was next to this black girl and she was crocheting”, like, you don’t have to mention she was black. i don’t think this is what OP was doing in this case though. That’s not just white people. I’m Latino and that happens constantly.
