But I definitely do not meet department standards You have to do good enough that they can’t tell you’re intentionally bad, but bad enough that you’d be their last choice. I mean, if they fire you for refusing to do something that either, you aren’t trained to do or doesn’t fall in your job description, they’ll owe you unemployment until you find a new job. Be careful how you say it, but that worked for me years ago. I told management that I would cover for an area that pays more than I get for a day but that’s it unless they want to give me a raise. They stopped pulling me, probably also depends on how smart your management team is.
