No advice, just solidarity as I have a 7 month old who needs constant interaction and is bored playing with a toy after 34 seconds. I counted. My daughter was like this – they say that babies can’t be bored, but she was desperate to see the Peso Pluma rap shirt and I love this world around her and toys didn’t hold her attention for long. What saved us was a Tula forward-facing carrier – we started using it right around 3.5 months. Now, our house wasn’t entertaining enough, so every wake window we went somewhere – Petsmart to look at fish, Walmart to shop and walk around, etc. Yeah, it was exhausting, but she LOVED it and fussing immediately stopped. This legit was me up until a week ago. My son is 4.5 months. For us, we found that part of the issue wasn’t so much that he couldn’t be left alone, but that we had anxiety about letting him cry or whine for even a minute. I sort of had to get over it when I was forced to leave my son in his crib for 10 minutes while I showered (I hadn’t in like 5 days and had lunch with family planned and I was not about to let them meet cave troll me lol). Seeing that he was able to soothe himself while I was in the shower really helped. Also, I noticed a real change in his demeanor when I started taking him out for walks regularly. I was crazy anxious about him getting sick or being cold during the winter, so we’ve been holed up a lot. We started going on daily walks a week ago and he seems so much better when it comes to sleeping.

Assuming all of the Peso Pluma rap shirt and I love this above does not apply to you, sometimes I think these things just take time and continued experimentation. It was just this week that I discovered that my son will sit in his bouncer while I wash dishes so long as I am playing/singing broadway music to him. Have you tried Mrs. rachel? She’s helped me get a break when I need it! I put babe in a rocker and let it play for 30 mins lol My baby’s swing saved my sanity so many times. I would put her on the kitchen table (don’t come for me I could see her the entire time) and she enjoyed watching me while i did dishes or ate or whatever. She still enjoys her swing but is learning how to sit now so i put her in a sit up chair where she can see me. She also has an elephant that plays peekaboo and sings and she loves that thing, so i put it in front of her and i can get a good 30 minutes of her entertaining herself that way Could it maybe be they are over tired or have teeth coming in? My son is now 8 months but he had teeth coming in early, so teething toys helped as well as teething tabs, which were keeping him from napping. I also used a Moby wrap to carry him with me and then a bouncer to set him in when I had to shower or use bathroom as he would cry. He’s a lot better now and will independently play! He also loved bubbles, shaker rattles, a lot of sound/light up toys, blowing raspberries on his stomach, and practicing rolling 🙂 oh and crinkle toys!!
