Good gods I forgot about those horrible knee length plaid shorts every girl was wearing. Like were we all going golfing? That was such hot shit back then (to some other kids. Not most.) I told my husband those Jean skirts are gonna come back anyyyy day now and it’ll be my time to shine because for some reason I can’t seem to throw things away the only thing that changed is guys dont wear aeropastele/a&f/american eagle/hollister anymore. everything else looks exactly the same. I remember I loved the layered look. I actually don’t mind that it’s all coming back in style— this stuff is loads better than what would come after (early 2010s). Mid 2000s was ugly with purpose at least. The chokehold those knee length plaid shorts had on everyone in middle school lmao. And those gauchos that were so clingy and tight but flowy at the same time. I hated those then. That was back when straight hair was in style. Now in the 20’s everyone wants curly hair. Amazing how fashion has changed…especially in the last 3 years. I was into oversized hoodies and skinny jeans so it wasn’t that bad, but omg my hair and makeup was atrocious (I have to remind myself a lot of girls looked like that when I look at old pics lmao) also I like those huge, chunky, wide af Osiris shoes and they looked ridiculous on me lol

God I hated this era even when I was in it (potentially cause I was a broke teen/college student?) and even more so whatever happened between 2012-2021 where I had no idea what I was doing (probably a personal problem tho). People weren’t taking high def selfies, we were just learning the new things of the internet. Also there wasn’t enough representation and diversity in the media The LAY-ERZ… Dude I wish someone would have told me I really don’t need a tee shirt under a “punk” vest under a cropped cardigan. Questionable fashion aside, I could have saved a bunch of money on tops alone It’s like the pieces were designed separately with no thought given to how they would actually work together all at once.
