I had read somewhere that the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this leaders don’t actually expect any success in converting anyone on door knocking crusades and that the reason they actually send their members out is to experience backlash from the public to help reinforce an us vs them attitude and keep them in the flock. I thought about becoming a Mormon when I was in my late 20s. I was a single mom, lonely, sad, hurt and broke. They came to my door and we talked a few times, then they invited us to a dinner at the church. I felt so welcomed and loved and appreciated, I really felt at home. Until they talked about the cost, 10% of what I made. I was barely scraping by, I did not have much left over after rent and bills and childcare and diapers. They asked me to give something up and use that money. There was nothing! I did not smoke or drink, never went out. The 10% is called tithing and it’s from the old testament and isn’t actually a requirement for Christians because Jesus fulfilled the old law. In the Catholic church (I’m Catholic), you are expected to give financially within your means, not necessarily 10%, though, I find it helpful and like to do it. The main thing is to set that aside first before everything else (God comes first, not utility companies and landlords). It should be done cheerfully or not at all and then it can give you emotional benefits.
OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt: A Unique and Creative Design
Depends on how seriously they converted. In the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this UK there used to be a thing where the missionary would buy the convert a meal, and then baptize them. It was called “chip ’em & dip ’em.” In that sense, it was not uncommon. But a real conversion? If I remember correctly they get points towards heaven merely for the attempt at converting people. Buy a meal? I can be bribed with a good meal. I have a few restaurants were I would like to get reservations, but where the waiting lists are long. If they manage to do that, and foot the bill, I’m willing to take a shower together. You guys are gonna love this: the Mormons are huge and everywhere throughout Japan. Yes, you read that right. They hang out in front of the thousands of subway entrances and exits, go door-to-door, and present themselves as being the normative expression of Christianity. Why do I know this? I lived there for four years, and in China for three.
That’s actually a pretty decent amount of Mormans. Had to be in the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this top ten for Morman populations in a country. JW active in Denmark too. And Scientology as well (they run some international schools here and you really have to read the fine print to find that out). I’m sure that there have been converts. However, ‘conversions’ are usually rare. And, somewhat disturbingly, that’s not the purpose of door-to-door work. My understanding is that door-to-door visits are not necessarily designed to ‘provide help to neighbors’, but instead are intended to enforce the bond between the ‘missionary’ and the ‘church’. By encouraging the member to spend lots of time recruiting, they are reducing the member’s time available to do other things. The principle is that the member needs to be focused on the church, and only the church. A side feature of that is a ‘sunk cost’ cognitive fallacy, where people are less likely to reverse a decision or change a habit that they have spent a lot of time and resources on. The more time spent ‘going door to door’, the more regret a member has in leaving the church, the greater loss that the member has to admit that they have suffered. On the other hand, the repeated rejections that members have enforce the church’s teachings. Members are ‘special’, the universe has singled them out as ‘blessed’, and the world’s rejection of them is actually part of the mind control and bonding with the church. “See? They reject you, but you can always come to the church, and you know you are in the right place.” Example: Jehovah’s Witnesses. When covid hit, they agreed to stop door-to-door witnessing. In some areas, people reported receiving individual hand-written letters from JW’s. This allows me to conclude that the witnessing activity had nothing to do with recruiting new members. The church discouraged typing up a letter, making copies, and mailing. They instead chose a method which encouraged members to spend the most time. So the goal was to have the members ‘do something difficult for the church’, not ‘do something that would reach the most people’.

About this OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt
Example: LDS Church (Mormons). Destinations for missionaries are not usually decided by looking at church attendance, or with any sort of attention to a development strategy. In addition, the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this rules of an LDS mission include complete separation from family – until a few years ago, even calling their family was limited to two days a year. They are still limited to contact only once per week. This is a feature to separate a missionary from their family, and connect them to the church itself. Other features of mission including deep restriction of alone time, and restrictions on television, movies, and social media. No, I was born into the JWs but never was baptized and got out and never looked back when I was finished with high school. I’ve had family members het people interested through initial contact from door to door preaching and they would begin attending their meetings and study the Bible but these people usually couldn’t last long with the strict rules and being told to limit contact with their “non-believing” friends and family. Very few would actually full on commit with baptism, and that number from what I understand is very low because there’s a lot of studying and renouncing of your former ways that most people can’t commit to. It’s been almost 30 years since I had anything to do with that religion but I vaguely remember them targeting more depressed neighborhoods and poorer regions because it’s easier to get people who are down on their luck than those who are successful.
Of course. The Mormons converted hundreds of thousands all over the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this globe in the last 50 years. Fortunately though, the blatant lies and hypocrisy are now all over the internet. The church can’t stop the information anymore. (Things like their prophet marrying a 14 year old girl and other women who already had husbands.) The false history, added to the major financial scandals, plus the harm done to LGBT members is not only slowing conversions to a fraction of former numbers, it’s also causing a massive exit of people born into the church. This is why Mormons are trying to water down their dogma and rebrand themselves as ordinary christians. The Mormon moment is over. My mother converted when I was 11. She was a lonely single parent and had some nostalgia for visiting the LDS church with her grandmother as a child. My sister converted in her 30s for a similar reason.
My mother was converted by Mormon missionaries when she invited them into her house in the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this early 1960s. She brought my father into the religion (they were newlyweds), had eight children, and both my parents continue to practice Mormonism to this day. Most of their kids were skeptical of the doctrine and history of the church and left the religion, though a couple are still in it. But I always find myself wondering: do they actually believe that stuff? According to the Church, there were 212,172 convert baptisms in 2022. As someone who went on an LDS mission, it’s hilarious how poorly informed (or misguided) opinions on the subject can be. Rule 10: Sorry, this post has been removed as it violates Rule #10. Joke, off-topic or other unhelpful comments are not allowed here. My aunt was a lonely housewife with young chidren. She came from a religious Christian family. Her husband, my uncle, was away often with work and didn’t always treat her great, he died when her kids were between the ages of 6 and 16. She didn’t really have any friends and suffered from anxiety or depression. The Jehova Witnesses were some of the only folks to come by and visit her in the day. She made friends and converted. None of her children agreed with her conversion, and all stayed away from it. Although I should note that her youngest became a Flat Earther and even though he dodged the Jehovas it feels like another cult got him.
I know there have been. My father was a Mormon and spent two years on his mission in Ecuador. He actually was pretty successful at it. Thank god he left. My whole family is Mormon, both parents and most of my uncles and now some of my cousins went on missions. All of them whose missions I heard about have conversion stories. But then again, most of them were going to impoverished countries. This one day, two men came to our door to spread the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this word of God. My mom (Christian) and I (Atheist) are Japanese, so we started discussing in front ot the two clearly Caucasian guys in Japanese that we’re both well off, and then one of them starts speaking in nearly impeccable Japanese to us. Ultimately, we turned it down, but it was pretty eye-opening for us that someone who’s obviously not Japanese speak our language with almost no discernible foreign accent and grammatical errors. Also, I was raised in a monotheistic (Christian) hosuehold, and I never drank coffee and alcohol (I just didn’t like their tastes) or smoked (hated the smell), so my friends often joked that I’m a Mormon.
Mercifully they let her drift back out in a couple of years when the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this tenor of her delusions drifted away from what they considered appropriate. Dude at work says his parents converted when he was a teen to JW’s after a random door knocking. It didn’t happen after the first visit but eventually it happened. I think mainly they just indoctrinate their own kids… knocking on doors can’t be a very effective recruitment method. I live across the street from an older black woman and she will just sit out on her deck and put old soul music on and sing along. She has no idea how many times she’s lifted me out of a bad mood just walking outside and hearing her. I second this. Old ppl will never find anything like that awkward. She’ll think about it for the rest of the week 🙂
I think i will! I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and get to know all my neighbors a little better anyways. I tend to keep to myself too much Living in the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this south and I go to a specific grocery store in town because the black woman behind the meat counter says “what can I getchu baby”. And it cures my depression Was going to say this. I work with elderly folks and one of my clients said this to me right before walking out: “Gracias, mija que Diosito te bendiga” there’s this woman who directs traffic at this one crosswalk on this campus and every time someone thanks her she says “you’re welcome sweetheart, have a wonderful day” and it makes me so happy This one is actually so true tho. Just a few days ago I went to a hole in the wall bbq place and the owner was this older black lady and she served us the most delicious brisket I’ve ever eaten. Called me honey and stuff. She was so sweet One of my good friends was black, and any time that we would ride our bikes to his house his mom would make sure that I got fed regardless if I had already eaten or not. Amazing family. R.I.P. Geoff. You know the food is always good when they’re the older grandmas that got the flappy arms and the they be running around putting their foot all in the food it’s soooo good I’ve been to restaurants like this and the food is HOT DAMN AMAZING The best teachers I ever had were black women. I grew up in an all-white neighborhood full of a bunch of blue-collar bigots, but most of my school teachers were black ladies who commuted from other neighborhoods. They were some of the only black people I knew for a long stretch of my childhood. Aside from the fact that my parents weren’t racist, I also credit those teachers with opening my eyes at a very early age to the importance of judging people by their character and not being prejudice toward anyone because of their race or ethnicity. I had a lot of competing ideas being thrown at me by boyhood friends and their bigot parents, and I was able to quickly dismiss them all as ignorant morons because of my interactions with my amazing grade school teachers.
This is so cool! I grew up in the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this opposite kind of school, as we had a mixed population, but mainly white teachers. Now, I teach at a school where a lot of the teachers are black, and I wish I’d had that. It’s so good for all the kids, white and black! They are absolutely phenomenal teachers, and our school has very, very few issues with racism. I do believe a big part of that is that the kids have both white and black teachers from a young age. being maternal and caring , especially older black women ( the black grandmamas who spoil their grand children / the older black women calling everyone honey and sweetheart ) and as a black woman who’s from louisiana i experienced this stereotype a Lot and have had it associated with myself as well
I have a vivid memory of when I worked at a theme park of an older black lady being reunited with her charge – somehow she embraced and smacked the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this boy on the head for making her worry. I agree with the older black women being very caring. When I was about 10 I had walked down to walmart to buy even more stuff to try to deal with my hair. I’m a white person with the very kinky curly hair that black people have. I was standing in the aisle so frustrated not even knowing where to start. This was before internet was so easily accessible, so I couldn’t look up at home before leaving what I could look for to help. This older black woman, probably in her early 50’s came by and said she had the same problem and so do her kids. She spent about 10 minutes with me telling me what to look for in hair products and what combs to use and how to deal with it. She didn’t have to. This has been about 26 years now and I still adore that woman who didn’t have to help, but did.
All the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this black women I have met are the most caring and uplifting people. I don’t know how they do it and I appreciate them so much. As a pasty old white guy, I have to say amazing skin. I’m frequently surprised how older black women look 10+ years younger than their actual age. They are the absolute BEST hype girls I’ve ever met. They always bring such a genuine energy and excitement, and honestly no matter how low I’m feeling if an Older black women tells me “Honey you’re gorgeous” I will immediately go from feeling like garbage to an absolute goddess I went on an excursion in Cancun with a group of sorority girls on a reunion and let me tell you, Vicky and her friends made that experience soooooo much better. They laughed at all their friends zip line shrieks and were shouting “Hoody hoo” anytime something happened on the quads. The bus ride home would’ve been real boring without their recaps too.
Related, they are the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this absolute best people to be around when witnessing a “you seeing this shit” moment. Especially if it’s something funny. I’ve never met a black woman who didn’t know what her worth was. (of course this is from my own singular experience, I know there’s plenty of black woman who struggle with that, same as everyone.) Strong/fierce, a unique and fearless eye for style, tend to stand up for what they believe is right, confidence, and I don’t know how to describe it other than a deep soulful attitude that just radiates somehow. I’m over here looking at my tail feather, asking why my mom (Black) didn’t give me one damn drop of that juicy booty. Mine told me I’ll get once I have a kid. Guess I’ll just be stuck using a pillow in the driver’s seat for the rest of my life. Seriously! Thankfully, my job keeps me moving and I have a short commute. I couldn’t imagine sitting on this boney thing for 8 hours. I generally find black women have fantastic builds. I like a little muscle on my women and a lot of the black women I see have god-given musculature that in turn just gives them great physiques overall. Underrated feature IMO. My experience as a super shy white lady is that strangers will look out for me when I’m not standing up for myself. I don’t think a shy black lady would have that same experience so it’s probably out of necessity.
I can tell that people expect me to be what is considered to be a stereotypical black woman when I approach them (receptionists, customer service etc.). Then it’s as if they let their shoulders down and relax when they realize that I’m really quiet and shy. Never get into a game of “the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this dozens” with a black woman. No matter how smart you think your comeback is, she has something utterly, utterly, witheringly devastating loaded up and ready to drop on you with impeccable timing. And it doesn’t matter what the topic is. Men, cars, shopping, 18th century Victorian porcelain thimbles. She will crush you like a sad little styrofoam cup. I dunno if it’s a stereotype, but I feel reassured if a black woman is in charge. I figure she won’t take any shit, and will be straightforward and keep things moving. I experienced the same thing at my last job, our manager was a black woman who later got promoted and replaced with a white man lol. While she was our manager the vibe was solid. The place felt safe, I didn’t feel belittled by the people we served. She brought an air of respect to the whole team, had a zero tolerance for drama, treated everyone like adults, etc. Once she left things went soooo down hill.
I think the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this word you’re looking for is matriarch. I gotta agree, they may be strict at times but they will jump through every hoop imaginable to make sure everyone’s needs are met. And they’re damn good at it, too. This part. One of my supervisors at work is an older black lady and she is my favorite because she is so gentle, but doesn’t take ANY crap from ANYBODY. I love it. She never curses, but she can make it feel like she did by the tone of her voice. My favorite thing ever is when she greets me at work with “how ya derrn baby” and we hug. There’s also some element of selection bias that influences the way I would view her competence. Given the systemic discrimination and frank amount of shit that society throws at women and people of colour, a black woman in a position of authority must have overcome a mountain of bias and discrimination to get there. In my mind, she must be extraordinary at whatever she’s up there for. I recognize this is absolutely not always the case, but it does affect my perception going in. I think to myself “this is a woman swimming uphill her entire life, but here she is.” Someone who is able to climb above her competitors who all start up so much higher and with a mountain of privilege, must be a total badass.
And black female bosses are awesome to work for. I have had several in my life and I would work my ass off for them because they were so good at what they did. I miss my last boss. She was from Nigeria and she fostered a very open relationship and I felt I could tell her anything. A girls girl through and through. We age gracefully, have smooth skin, generally we smell good (cocoa butter, something sweet) great at parties, are usually the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this most helpful and accepting of other racial groups, have nice bodies, we can dance, great at doing hair, good cooks And it’s not because you laugh at them……it’s because they have a unique ability to communicate simple truths in a “down home”, matter-of-fact way…..
I don’t know if it’s a stereotype, just my experience as a white woman being around a lot of black women in my jobs and community, but I feel like Black women are much more confident and accepting of their bodies. They at least aren’t afraid to have curves and flaunt them. Black women are extremely hard working and resilient (much more than they should ever have to be). If the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this world really rewarded hard work alone, black women would have ruled the earth aeons ago. Black women are warm, genuine, have a good sense of humor, they know how to give a compliment, they know how to cook well, sociable, always smell good, down to earth, they tend to be more straightforward, they like good music and they are always ready to express how much it means to them. The protective older black woman. When I was 18 and travelled on a greyhound for the first time I had an older black woman shoo a creepy guy off and I still think about her. Appreciated tf out of her for helping me feel safer
As a socially awkward black woman without any sense of fashion or friends I really am the OKC Thunder The Finals 2025 Champions shirt and I will buy this antithesis of that stereotype. Lol, it’s almost comical. I totally love this thread as a Black woman because, we get so much bad stereotypes about us and I’m beyond grateful to read such good things about us. We are some truly amazing women. Most of the time I have met black women they dress so well. Growing up there was a African American family upstairs. We could smell the delicious food. We were also invited to eat so I always associate a welcoming nurturing attitude too. Not sure if these are stereotypes though. Good at setting boundaries and speaking up for what is right! The black women I’ve worked with were the only ones who tipped me off that I was being discriminated against at work for being lgbt. When they were considered “rude” it was often for politely setting a boundary at work that the rest of us had just been trained to put up with. I’ve grown a lot as a person from seeing that example.
