JcPenny: I feel like Pennies was AWESOME in the Official dear Person Behind Me Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Sunflower T-Shirt in addition I really love this early 2010s when they were trying to get a lot more contemporary styles and had a lot of “fair pricing” where you didn’t have to time coupons (which I LOVED). That wasn’t popular so they reversed back into mostly providing classics and “mature” fashion – ie Alfred Dunner. I’ve got some really nice things from them, but quality has gone down over the last few years and I’m not happy that the pants I got there last fall already have threads coming out in mid-spring. Feels like they’re constantly forgotten but I think their shipping is fast and their clothes are at least on the same level as target/walmart — Worthington is often a steal, quality wise, for the same price. Most of my work wardrobe is Worthington tbh. Tons of polyester here, too, but I was happy to see I could get 100% cotton shirts here. Hard to return to (no local store/dollar charge on returns) but the return process is pretty painless when you get to it.

Macys: Expensive JcPenney. A lot of stuff marked up way too high for the Official dear Person Behind Me Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Sunflower T-Shirt in addition I really love this quality they’re selling…but some good bargains too. Worth a shift through. I haven’t seen a lot here I was willing to bite the bullet and try. J Crew: Slow shipping. Got a note today that due to covid my order would be packed slower…that I ordered a week ago…of a single belt. The stuff I’ve gotten from them is decent quality for the price and I like that they have real leather options which a lot of stores don’t. Cute clothes. I’m willing to put up with the slow shipping but if I have an event where I have to have an outfit for it…I don’t buy at J crew anymore. Universal Standard: Expensive. Torn on whether it’s worth it: what I’ve got is the material they advertise to the extent I can tell and the stitching is clean, but I’m not spending 400 dollars on a final sale suit on sale from 500. Buy 25 dollar tshirts when they’re on sale here, but that’s about it. I don’t like how much of their stuff has leaned toward shapelessness over the years (I’m sorry the geneva dress just screams SACK to me), but I’ve been happy with the look of some of their newer stuff. Wish they had more 30″ inseam jeans because I keep hearing they’re good but they’re very expensive and all either too short (27) or way too long (32-33). The first shirt I bought from them fit weird (sweetheart neckline) but the vneck rexes all fit well. I think their sizing is confusing for most people even if I do appreciate how they do their sizing. Really like that they added the ability to see fits on multiple models — some of their models are such different body types to me that it was previously very difficult for me to judge if it would be flattering on me or not. LOVE their underwear — only comfy thong I’ve ever bought. But 25 a pair is steep, so I only buy it on sale.
