So this isn’t something they said, but something they did.. Not me, but my stepdad was told the tumor eating into his spine was a trapped nerve, and sent away repeatedly with increasingly stronger and stronger painkillers, until he eventually couldn’t stand and was taken to the ER where they finally gave him an x-ray. By the time they caught it with the x-ray it had metastasized and he had tumours on his spine, kidney and in his lungs. He’s dead now.

Like a decade ago my left testicle swelled up. Felt like a grapefruit. Horrible horrible pain. Went to the doctor, checked in at the front counter with what the problem was and waited. Eventually got back to a room and the doctor comes in and asks why I’m there, I tell her my testicle is extremely swollen. She asks me to drop my pants and exclaims “yep it looks swollen” I, a virgin. which I told him several times. have gonorrhoea. he then proceeded to call me a liar, order zero tests and prescribe me antibiotics for gonorrhoea … turns out mouth herpes (which I’ve had since infancy thanks dad, you fucking idiot) can sometimes develop blisters in the throat! who would have thunk Had a horrific throat infection, doctor said it was viral and would go away on its own. Fair enough. Suffered constant pain for about another month before going back to a different doctor who took a half second glance at my throat and was like oh dear you need antibiotics I know doctors are only human but it was unbelievable pain that was barely manageable while overdosing on OTC pain meds so it stung a bit…
