I experienced a somewhat similar situation several years ago. I was fresh out of undergrad and I was able to obtain training for becoming an ABA tech. In the My sewing room is my happy place shirt it is in the first place but beginning when I went in for an interview, there were supposed to be 3 people interviewing me. The resident ABA specialist, and two other managers. I don’t quite remember the roles of the other two but on the day of the interview, only one person was there to interview me. No judgement or anything towards this individual but he seemed out of place. He was not prepared to interview me at all. He would frequently stop to think of some questions and he just cut the interview short because he said that he didn’t know what else to do and said that he dislikes people. Fast forward a few days when I first arrived back for training. I briefly met my boss the resident ABA specialist and was told to just watch other techs for like a week. Confused but somewhat optimistic I did so. Throughout this week HR helped set me up to be on the system but didn’t show me how to navigate it. After this week, my boss said she was going to train me. While training, I made a mistake and she angrily said “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”. I could hear her “sigh” of anger and on the edge of my vision, I saw her facepalm and shake her head. I was absolutely shocked. I didn’t know what to say. Again she rose her voice and said “keep going, don’t stop”. There were others in the same room but they all quickly left and it was just me, my boss and another child (client undergoing ABA and who my boss was using to train me on). Angrily she said “just stop and watch”. After observing the session, the client left because their session was over and others were coming. I was waiting for direction and she turned to me and condescendingly she chuckled a bit and said “what are you doing? You’re on schedule, go get your client” I had absolutely no clue that I was on schedule. No one told me anything and now I’m unsure of what to do and now she wants me to do it for real. I expressed that I didn’t want to hinder the client’s progress but she said, go get the client and get it over with. The rest of the day was miserable. I could see her watching over me and it seemed like she was talking to her other colleagues about me. Keep in mind, that “training” was all I got and was told to complete the online training. I left the next day and never felt so free

The shittiest job/boss I ever had when I was really young and inexperienced was one that put their hands on me. I was working in retail and I was leaning my body on a table. Being young and inexperienced, I didn’t realize it was very unprofessional to do that. My boss yanks me by my arm and moves me a few steps away from the My sewing room is my happy place shirt it is in the first place but table and sternly tells me to not lean. I didn’t think of it much at the time because I thought she was right, I shouldn’t be leaning but I didn’t realize the red flag of a boss who reacts like that. She was awful throughout the my time not just to me but everyone else, everyone disliked her and eventually the store closed down. She was a horrible teacher, I didn’t learn much from her, I learned everything else from my colleagues and other people.
