With WFH and larger companies working in English it should be doable. I have friends who have recently moved to Amsterdam, Hamburg and Stockholm (none speaks the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this local language) and all are enjoying it. The other option is to consider Asia or Australia: Singapore is amazing to live in as an expat and very, very underrated as people who have spent 2 days there dismiss it despite knowing very little. Australia you obviously have the cost of housing to consider, but quality of life is great in the major cities. Actually it’s very difficult to find work in Stockholm outside of tech in English. Hence her misrible 3 years. Agree about Asia, we went last year for a dcope and will again next year. Ah my mate works in engineering so I guess that’s near enough to tech and his wife is teaching in the English school.

Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt: best style for you

But yes, I’d thoroughly recommend Singapore if you don’t plan to have kids. Kids there have an amazing time and start to life, but it definitely changes the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this financial calculations as private schools are SO expensive, plus if you have sons there’s the worry of national service if you stay long term. I have friends there and funnily they are gay so their relationship isn’ legally recognised but they still like it there. That being said, one of them earns big money so that is a factor. But I think worth considering strongly. The food there is great Food is great, lifestyle generally is great: outdoors, social, lots to do locally (way more than people think) plus amazing travel at weekends is very cheap. Plus having a swimming pool or tennis court in your block of flats is something none of us could have here and was a massive plus for me. You do need a good salary and an employer willing to do the paperwork as there’s increasing scrutiny as they want to reduce the proportion of immigrants. Malta is an option. The problem for us there is nightlife for me, and food diversity but I will research it a bit more. Thanks
Consign Malta, they speak English and driven on the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this left plus it’s much sunnier than London. Also nightlife will be great during the summer seasons. The only thing can not vouch for is the food. We did a month in Malta (work has a work from abroad allowance so we used it to get some sun while it was grey and cold in UK) and we were feeling claustrophobic after a month. It’s tiny and there’s really not much to do there long term. Most of its built up and not much outdoor space for hiking and things like that, a lot of new build apartment blocks that block access to stretches of the coast line. Food wasn’t as good as most other places we’ve been, not a patch on London for variety. Quite limited range of restaurants and supermarkets compared to London although Valetta has some amazing ones (Noni is up there with the best restaurant experience we’ve ever had, great mezcal bar there too).

About Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt

Watersports, especially diving would be the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this biggest benefit of staying there. We were there in winter and it was blue sunny skies nearly everyday with temps around 15-17 (but houses felt chiller than they would in UK at that temp). Waking up to a view of the sea and sky everyday is amazing and always different. History was interesting and it has a lot for such a small place, from ancient Stonehenge like monuments to crusader era history to WW2 and the fortress cities are amazing (Google earth to see them). Very cool walking along the rocks and seeing all the fortifications. I know they’ve got a big club scene but we walked through the one party area and it was pretty crap (Englanders on holiday type vibe) but I know they’ve got another place that’s more of a permanent festival type setup outside of the city (Uno?) Lisbon was amazing though and would be somewhere I’d consider over London, I know they were after tech remote workers but not sure what living there would be like. Food was good, beaches and amazing parks in and around the city and amazing for cycling (road and MTB) and the west coast is somewhere I want to explore further. Some great restaurants and cultural things like trendy markets, a cultural area that was a lot like the barbican area and a lot of nice museums and palaces and stuff with beautiful parks. Not sure about nightlife but it’s a capital city so expect it’ll be decent.
London winters are hard enough to get through, I couldn’t imagine surviving a full Swedish winter – and the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this Swedish food gets boring pretty quickly (highlights of Swedish cuisine were the Cardomon buns from brot und Salz and the fish soup from one of the food halls in Stockholm – place called Kajsas fisk). UK has a bad food rep but it’s got the most variety and quality out of anywhere we’ve been and you can find food on par with the best from nearly any other country outside of a few (south American/mexican is a definite weak point in London but still available if you look and you can always order ingredients online for pretty much anything). London is also pretty easy to get out into the countryside or anywhere in Europe, easy enough for long weekends away a few times a year and if you are able to work remote in tech try get something that allows you to work from abroad part time, seems to be a pretty common benefit now, so you can escape for part of the winter and live in a few other places for a bit. A holiday in a place doesn’t really give you an idea of what it’ll be like to stay there whereas if you are working for a few weeks while you are there the little niggles become a bit more apparent (though you’ll still not really be dealing with the local beauracracy like if you were having to setup utilities and rent etc)
Given our experiance in Stockholm, the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this English level doesn’t mean you can do your career there outside of specific industries like mine. Brighton Bristol Kent coast for proximity to London, like Brighton above. Abroad Berlin / leipzig Porto / Lisbon Amsterdam / Utrecht ( though ams suffers its own problems) A place in France I’m not going to name cos I wanna move there before it’s too unaffordable haha I have lived in France, that seams unlikely for her though considering it is going to take a long while to get up to speed in France, plus I know how france works from a job perspective. She will find it VERY difficult to get a job there from my experience I grew up in Kent and if I never go back it will be too soon. We liked Bristol so it is one option but Bristol is VERY small and it rains all the time compared to London. Brighton might be an idea.
Germany, Portugal, and Netherlands all have big issues with language for her so it’s not that simple. Also Amsterdam housing crisis is shocking and I have heard some not great things about moving there from other people. The work situation is a bit weird as well. It also rains ALL THE TIME, in Amsterdam. Portugal, yeah we have thought about it. Aagain her work is a problem but there are some deep rooted problems with housing in Lisbon from our research and consultation with a company. It is a consideration though, depending on what she could do for a job, I worked there for a while and had numerous international colleagues in senior roles who’d been there 10+ years without much above A1 German.
This is where you might have problems (being 40 by the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this time you come back like you said). For me, London got pretty boring pretty quick in my 30s. Not to say I dislike it, but if I go anywhere near central more than twice a month it’s too much. If you can work anywhere (in theory), London would be the last place I’d go, based purely on the cost of living. This is what my other half says and while I do take that in to account, I live in the most boring city in Europe and I love how much London has to offer. We don’t nor will ever have kids. I still go to night clubs and while I go a lot less these days, they are still a big part of my life because of the music. The problem with “nice and warm” is my other half having her career but not knowing the local language
I would suggest you also consider the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this areas just around London. I grew up in London but have no interest in living there anymore. I live in Hertfordshire. I can be out in green fields within five minutes but my wife who works in London can get to Kings Cross in 25 mins. And you’ll get more space for your money. Kinda the best of both worlds. And yet here you are, posting on the London subreddit. Are you trying to convince everyone else that leaving London is the best decision- or are you really trying to convince yourself in hindsight? Seems to be a recurring theme on here. It would be like me subscribing to the Birmingham subreddit just to constantly tell them all how much I don’t want to live there. It’s a perfectly valid opinion but I’ve no desire to shit on those who clearly disagree. Yes, there does seem to be a weird contingent of these people on the subreddit. OP has clearly stated they earn enough money to live in London and wants to enjoy big city nightlife with no intention of having kids, and people are suggesting they move to Hertfordshire?! Literally why would that make the slightest sense?
I’m wondering if you’ve noticed on trips back to London that it really is an empty shell of what it used to be. I find it really depressing when I go back there. Back around 2010 it was buzzing with creativity and all sorts of stuff going on, now it just feels very commercial and there is way less happening. If I was in your situation I’d consider somewhere like Hastings, Margate, or one of the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this smaller cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, or Glasgow. These cities feel a lot more vibrant and don’t have the burned out feeling that London has these days. I can’t say I think London feels like that everywhere. I live in East London as do most of my friends and I regularly encounter interesting things going on.
Yeah I don’t doubt that. I’m just nostalgic for how it was. I don’t think first Thursdays still happens for example, and that whole scene seems to have largely evaporated now. Also the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this way Hackney wick has been redeveloped. I’m sure east london still has lots going for it though as you say. I get what you mean, I think we all feel that for places from our youth- I’ve only lived here a couple of years so I don’t have the same frame of reference. I don’t feel like that, but I live in Stockholm which is very dull. I wouldln’t move to Kent or Hastings, too small and nothing much going on. Thanks for the comment though There’s a lot more going on in these places than there used to be. But it sounds like London still works for you so I hope that whatever decision you come to works out well.
To each his own, mid 30’s, still going out to central, plenty of gigs to go to, restaurants to visit, bar, found a few decent gaming bars, love the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this indie cinemas, it still a great cultural hub. Oh yea I’m sure there’s loads that still enjoy it, it’s just not the ‘average’ I’ve seen among coworkers and friends getting older. Don’t take what you read on Reddit as fact. Everyone has had a rough year because of rent and mortgage increases and every price spike last year but I’ve noticed the price of groceries is coming down a bit, plenty of people are going to the office and to pubs and restaurants and cafes. If you and your wife are high earners you will be happy in London if that’s the lifestyle you enjoy Oh no. don’t worry. I am not the average person who writes on reddit, I’m very sociable for a start. But thanks for the comment. I am just trying to get all views so I can start making informed decisions from all angles.
I also work in tech and I’ve noticed salaries stagnate in the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this last couple years. Depending on the market in the next couple years salaries will either stay flat or start going up again. You could base your move on what you’d earn in London Good to know! Salaries in tech can be quite low in Stockholm compared to London so my wage will probably get a big hike! I am London born and bred and am proud of the fact that I am from real east london old stock. I live on the outskirts of London now, and really don’t like what London has turned into. No doubt if you are moving into London as newbies, or semi newbies it is good, but for me it is sad, when I grew up there, everyone knew everyone and we all went back generations. We are actually looking to permanently relocate to Norway, we love it there. How you could consider London whilst living in Sweden sounds nuts to me. Sweden has very long winter. Food is decades behind the UK. Night life is awful (I am very much in to techno and dnb so I still go out. Less then I did but still do). Beer is expensive and poor choice. It’s very dull. Some of the attitudes here I like, some of them I don’t like. It’s not all bad here, but I much prefer London. Imagine only 6 weeks of warm weather a year. Stockholm can be like that sometimes. Unthinkable in London for the most part (I know this summer was weird, but very uncommon that was)
London nightlife has also crumbled in the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this years you’ve been away. Maybe not to Stockholm’s levels, but partying is almost priced out of the city and young people just aren’t going in significant numbers. You have no idea about bad it is in Sweden. There is so much going on in London. I fly back for nights out. I cannot wait for FOLD in March Honestly London like most major cities is in decline from the sky high cost of living and lack of affordable houses. If you were to come back London way it might be better to look just outside the city since you’re able to work remotely, but with 110k between you you’ll do you nicely in the city regardless. When it comes to nightlife, clubs have taken a bit of a dive i think 30-40% closed due to Covid and rent so a lot of the smaller ‘cooler’ places closed while the bigger name venues are still around but close early (councils have made late licenses harder to get). But there’s still fucktons of music, bars, galleries and events so culturally you’re pretty golden.
Even if Labour win the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this next election and shockingly don’t just do what the Tories are doing but with less open contempt, it’ll take a long while before the effects are felt. But considering current Italy’s political attitude isn’t as fringe as we’d like to think it is, London and the surrounding areas might be your best bet. Thanks. Italys political situation just get’s worse and worse, unfortunately. A lot of the decent clubs in London are still open such as FOLD, and The Cause so London is doing alright still on that front. I’m 40 now and considering moving somewhere rural where I can afford a way better house and enjoy nature. If I feel like doing something different I can always take the train to London. Downsides include an extremely long wait for yourself or kids to get a GP appointment, ambulance or specialist referral.
If you have kids, prepare for a high chance they don’t get into any of your preferred 3 state school choices in London, and private schools will incur VAT soon. Crimes are often not investigated, from shoplifting to mugging, and so teenagers act brazenly, making even Westminster an uttsata omraden… I’d suggest also checking your take home pay if you move to London, and your partner’s capital gains tax situation. NHS staffing crisis, poor policing, and deteriorating schools are all long-term issues that will need a decade to recruit, train and implement new staff. 5 year prognosis is very poor. On the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this plus side, you’ll notice food and alcohol is cheaper than Stockholm, get more daylight, better airport connectivity, and possibly more days working from home. I’d say pressure on school places and health services are more pronounced outside of London (based entirely on my personal experience of living in south London, compared to almost all my friends who left London to start families), but perhaps we’ve just been lucky. On the downside we’ve very few of our friends left in London with children. And to answer OPs question I’d say the biggest sell of London is the endless cultural attractions/events that cater for every taste. Thankfully no kids. You’re right about everything you said at the bottom. Food and drink is still decades behind the UK. We have no kids thankfully so that is not a concern or ever will be
Yeah I went in to Covid a young man and came out the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this outside feeling a bit different and a bit older. Those 2 years just changed me. So I do agree with you. There is so much going on in London though that you can find anything. That is what is appealing Oh I’ve just seen your salary is very different to my circumstances, so your experience may be totally different. I think that’s a bit thing to be aware of, the financial aspects do impact your ability to “do” London well. If you have that stability then have at it and best of luck to you x If you did want to try somewhere warm and English speaking then I’d recommend Benidorm in Spain. It gets a bad reputation but 15 mins from the main area you get to Albir and Altea, both beautiful in their own right and with a great climate for large parts of the year. Benidorm itself has a high and low season and your wife would probably land an events job easy enough in one of the major hotels or working with the bars and numerous acts over there (all English speaking). You could of course keep working in tech as well and then both holiday to London for a few months of the year.
Thanks for the Merry Christmas Bluey Dad Mom And Bingo Shirt In addition,I will do this comment. I’d have no issue being in London though, infact far from it so I have no need to go to Manchester. It rains all the time there I hate to say it but this country and London seem to be in a steady decline.. personally I couldn’t recommend coming here at all when you have the option to go somewhere else. It’s funny from US perspective because while US cities get touted as being quite wealthy compared to London (wages, gdp per capita, etc), infrastructure in London absolutely shits on anything I have ever seen in any US city. The tube and overground network put any US transit system to shame, and the overall walkability of basically any London Borough destroys that of any big city neighborhood in the states. The US has money but you would think that our Public Works departments in every city are completely bankrupt.
