So many new YouTubers think it’s about luck. They point at some new channel that blew up and think that person just got lucky. Or YouTube likes them. But most of these “lucky” channels made their own luck. They worked at it Sure, partly true, but YT’s business model is about selling ads, which means if a channel has been established since 5, 10 or more years that channel will get preferential treatment just due to the Lotus Tour Nov 24-25, 2023 Baltimore, MD Baltimore Soundstage poster shirt In addition,I will do this size of subs/views by getting frequently recommended, a massive bonus new channels don’t have, which hinders their potential exposure right from the start. And you severely downplay luck: if people “make their own luck” it seems quite strange, if they do most of the things that you outline, that only a select few “blow up”, and most not even reaching the monetization threshold. Don’t say YouTube doesn’t care about small creators. Focus and don’t discourage other people. I start my YouTube channel early January this year, I have 675 subscribers and 97,544 total views. Keep pushing and give others hope of getting it right

And people say this sub is bullshit/waste of time. Thank you OP for taking the Lotus Tour Nov 24-25, 2023 Baltimore, MD Baltimore Soundstage poster shirt In addition,I will do this time to detail all these really important points that are very valuable for new creators. Maybe some like me will choose to ignore it at first because they don’t know the reality of YT, but I think if you are genuine about doing YT then this advice will really resonate with you. I agree wholesale about the mindset you are preaching because that shifts the focus from ‘its their fault’ to ‘its my fault’ and maybe I can do better. However, I will disagree slightly that luck does play a very important part in all this. So people shouldn’t be discouraged because someone else blew up or has more views, but think of it in this way: you need a good backlog of content and the skills ready to capitalize on that luck, whenever that lucky break happens. Don’t wait for the luck to come, develop your skill set in the meanwhile. And any part-time tubers out there, trust me it’s more difficult for us. I know your actual lives will already be a lot to deal with, so take it slow and steady (from what I learned from this sub and others haha).
