Im almost 40 and its especially tough to find a partner who is not easily influenced by social media trends. I am a perpetual singleton and I find it to be absolutely horrible and I hate it every single day despite always having been single. I found the apps a bit too scary. Some really weird misogynistic creatures. I met my (now) organically. I’d suggest looking for clubs that peak your interest (walking, sport, games etc.) as the apps are a bit of a meat market xxx Day to day, I’m mostly fine, but zoom out and I’m so, so sad. I do fine with OLD in terms of matches/dates, but I can’t seem to find anyone I truly connect with. I’m really content with my life and generally happy. I have hobbies, friends and family that I love and very rarely feel like I’m missing out on anything. ETA: I once saw a meme that said “Dating after thirty is like digging through a garbage dump to find the least broken and disgusting thing” and I think that sums things up perfectly.
