That said (playing devil’s advocate), we’ve always bitched and moaned about stuff we didn’t need to learn in school. How much of even this basic stuff kids will need for the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this workforce is questionable. I’ve been working for nearly three decades, and am currently in a rut, working a low-level job assisting people making much more than I do. The stuff that makes me “smart,” all that stuff I learned in college and beyond, is purely optional now. Lots of people in management didn’t even go to college, they just need to know the industry itself (and it helps to be a schmoozer.) It can get awfully boring and depressing. For most jobs, it likely won’t matter, as long as they’re able to test people who absolutely need to use math/reasoning skills. Your last two bullet points about research and computers are SO IMPORTANT. I teach university students. They cannot do research. They cannot use google.
KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt, hoodie, tank top, long sleeve tee
They cannot use computers or email a file. It is so disturbing. I don’t even teach math or chemistry but I don’t know how those professors are managing. My worst issues have occurred this year with incoming freshman and I suspect it’s because this is the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this first class who attended all of high school in pandemic mode. I’m so glad I graduated before covid. I can’t imagine going through high school and not understanding the concept of a negative. Almost none of my students can do those things. To be clear, they’re not dumb or anything, but most of my students can’t do everything on that list (minus not knowing simple shapes). Does anyone think this may be cyclical? I am Gen X, raised by boomer parents who made damn sure I knew how to read and write before I started kindergarten. I remember my father lecturing me ad nauseum (as is a father’s wont) about how his own father (silent gen?) was barely high school educated. My father graduated from college and has a graduate degree. His father found himself a trade that didn’t require a lot of education. But my parents made sure that we were well-educated and would have the cognitive tools to figure the world out on our own if we needed to. Now, Gen X or Millennials are raising these kids that you talk about with no intellectual curiosity at all, and I see them repeating what my grandfather’s generation did so many decades ago, forgo education for trades (or nowadays influencing). Will the children of Gen A (or WTFever) decide that they wont repeat what their parents did and treat education as essential as it should be? I hate to think about the complete demise of the American education system. We can’t let this happen.
Obviously a lot of speculation here, and I have to admit that even though I did benefit from a strong education system in the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this 80s, I’m not always the brightest bulb. :/ A ton of these problems stem from teachers and administrators refusing to hold students back when “their friends are all graduating without them” and “holding them back will isolate them socially.” No one ever thinks about the damage that it will do to them academically to push them forward or how it will damage the rest of the class to put an idiot or multiple idiots in the class going forward, holding back the rest of the class from learning on their grade level because the teacher will now have to teach to the lowest students instead of focusing on the proper level.

Where to buy this KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt
Until we address the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this problem at home and with the parents we will continue to turn out illiterate, uneducated, scholastically deficient young adults. This is so goddamn terrifying it’s living inside Idiocracy. Horrible intellectual stamina/attention span. Literally cannot sit quietly and take a test that should take 25-30 mins. Its mind-boggling. 10-15 yrs ago was much better. Public education is a gross joke. Not a teacher but, work in a job where I’m “The mom age.” I have seen so many young adults not wanting to do the bare minimum of the job. Yes, my job is not for everyone but, just showing up and listening/learning from senior employees is nil to none. There has been many instances where they just didn’t show up because “I’m in the wrong head space.” Or “I’m too tired and can’t make it.” My favorite is “My tummy is off.” “Well, why and do you still meet the check in for work?” “Umm … yeah I ate and I don’t have fever or anything but, my tummy hurts.” We recently had a young woman who was going through veterinary school. You would think that because of her schooling she should have common sense. Nope. I asked were she lived and where she’s from, when she first started, blank stare. “Umm with my boyfriend.” WTF Other situations happened and she wasn’t teachable and consistently messed up and didn’t understand why. Long story short. I will never take my fur babies to her. She’s a sweet girl but, would walk into a wall for fun. Unfortunately, the world is not ready for this but, they need to be. Or F’Ing retire ASAP.
this reminds me of a girl in my class… she saw a picture of the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this mediterranean sea and asked if it was the pacific ocean. she also thought that the caspian sea was lake michigan and that vietnam was in the middle east. ‘m not a teacher, and I’m not American (which I presume OP and most of you are), but how come you aren’t just failing the kids who don’t meet the requirements to pass a grade? How old do you have to be to create a Reddit account? I’d like to see this post from a student’s point of view, evaluating teachers. Hey, I felt called out by that last one. Sure I type using mostly my index fingers but I also type near 100 wpm that way. I’ve got blazing fast index fingers. The fastest fingers in the West.
I know that my district has students in grades three, four, and five who are unable to write their own names. Of those who “can” write their names, most cannot write their own names legibly. By and large, the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this children are illiterate. We all see children arrive in kindergarten or first grade without knowing the alphabet or how to count to ten. I’ve known children this young who do not even know their own names. I’ve seen shit that makes me think another mass extinction event wouldn’t be so bad. On a very real level, where does it stop? Do we just keep toeing the line of a failing education system forever? We need systemic federal changes, so no state can become the next Florida. If this goes on for another 20 years we are fucked. Of it goes on for another 40 years, we’ll be too dumb to know how fucked we. the gap between the “gifted/honors” population and the “general” population has widened significantly. Either you have students that perform exceptionally well or you have students coming into class grade levels behind
My daughter is a freshman and has expressed an interest in being a teacher. Recently she says she wants to be an accelerated honors math teacher “Do the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this work or get out” My third graders don’t know their vowel sounds. They don’t capitalize or punctuate when they write. They don’t know that every syllable has a vowel. They don’t understand subtraction within 20 or Know partners of 10. They can’t name another state outside of ours and are equally likely to name our state as a country. They don’t know the months of the year. They don’t know how to tie their shoes. They lack SO many skills. I teach 12-14 year olds pre-Algebra and Algebra I, unfortunately everything you mentioned completely checks out. I’m 10 years into this profession and it’s harder than it’s ever been. It sucks and I hate my job. To my students, “researching” is googling and picking the result that the Google assistant tells them. “What was your source?” they say “Google” ? we have since gone over proper researching and I’m still having some do that
What does any of this matter when the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this most basic jobs fail to pay a living wage whether an individual can perform these academic tasks or not. This is the entire point! A poorly educated working class is easier to control. Keep ‘em dumb… keep ‘em fighting culture wars… When my mom went back to teaching in 2002, she had students like this in her high school classes. However, that was expected, because she was at a low decile school (similar to title I school in New Zealand) and she was hired partially to teach low level skills classes for kids who were grade levels behind. Why do they not have these classes for left behind kids anymore to catch them up??!! How in the ever loving fuck could any middle schooler not know basic shapes? My 4 year old has known her shapes since she was 2. It took basically zero effort on my part, just got some puzzles with various shapes that id do with her (and tbh Sesame Street also probably helped). This really is horrifying, jfc
TBF I had a teacher friend, I can’t remember the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this grade 4th or 5th maybe, who couldn’t do most of those math examples either. How can we expect the kids to do this stuff if their teachers can’t do it either? As someone who has no experience teaching whatsoever, do you guys think this is unique to the current generation of students or has this always been a thing and then inflated on social media? I met a 9th grader about 2 years ago who couldn’t tie his own shoes. And he got frustrated with me and with himself when I tried to show him and he couldn’t do it right away. I hear you, but even as a parent it’s a nightmare to overcome. My wife and I spend a lot of time and money making sure our kids are up-to-speed. It shouldn’t take being wealthy and able to afford tutoring and home resources to make sure kids are up to speed.
Stop letting little cunts ruin the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this classroom for everyone. Maybe removing kids who couldn’t focus/behave wasn’t the worst idea… Now why… that I can’t answer, but probably a combination of good teachers quitting, bad teachers getting promotions, and parents caring less and less I guess my question is why aren’t these kids that are underperforming being held back? They certainly used to, is that not the case anymore? Absolutely in the same boat. And it’s hard to catch them up because of curriculum, as you said, but also because of no consequences for not catching up. We’re so worried about test scores and other numbers that we’re not worried about whether these kids actually have the skills that their achievements say they should have.
They also are completely behind with basic fine motor skills for art. I have many middle and high school students who couldn’t tie a simple square or overhand knot, even after I demonstrated it several times. Can’t draw lightly. Can’t copy a line or recognize changes in value. Can’t dulpicate a pattern. Can’t push a book awl through 4 sheets of paper (they all said their hands were too sweaty…like what?) Forget using a god damn ruler…even as just a straight edge to draw a line. I struggle more and more to try to get decent work from them – especially drawing realistically or from observation. I catch them drawing like dog shit and not even looking at the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this reference image or still life despite reiterating 1000 times that this is observational drawing. They say “this is hard for me”…well no shit things are hard when you don’t ever try, practice, or pay attention when I’m trying to demonstrate this to you. They have the attention span of a flea and then try to hand it to me like a toddler asking for me to do it for them.
My principal told me “I was not allowed to tell parents we were understaffed.” As a School Psychologist who is constantly fielding questions about para/assistant support. WE ARE UNDERSTAFFED THOUGH??!! Am I supposed to lie to parents and tell them their services will be filled when they objectively cant? Yes you are completely correct. I dont fell like i need to elaborate anymore than others already have fone here so yes, i agree. Im 40 and not a teacher but in my general work life im finding a lot of younger people don’t know how to use computers very well they can use phones and pads but computers are a struggle. My adult daughter volunteered in her first grade child’s class this year to help build gingerbread houses. None of the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this other six year olds could name the candies. They didn’t know gum drop or licorice or anything. My daughter was shocked. The Knowledge Gap my friends! It’s a thing! We should adopt https://www.coreknowledge.org/ as our national curriculum.
My 16 year old junior in High School didn’t know how to sign a check because he was never taught cursive or his signature. MANY of the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this 7th and 8th graders where I work don’t know how to tell time, tie shoes, don’t know their addresses, any important phone numbers, grammar or punctuation, etc etc etc. If they can’t Google it, they don’t know it. The issues raised in this post are deeply troubling, underscoring longstanding problems in deaf education that remain unaddressed by the public. It’s inconceivable that some parents don’t prioritize accessible language for their children, depriving them of fundamental communication tools. This neglect can lead to irreversible educational and developmental delays. Too often, we encounter students who are the neglected products of cochlear implant programs and have a poor grasp of a first language (L1). It’s unfair that educators are then blamed for not reversing the consequences of this neglect.
For those teachers facing similar struggles, I believe that if the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this students possess a solid L1, they can still progress, provided they are active participants in their education. If not, the situation becomes significantly more challenging. I teach AP classes. I have students taking AP Seminar that don’t know keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste and thus they have to try to do it with the Chromebook track pad, so they complain when I tell them to copy and paste. I have AP Human Geo students that can’t figure out any visual data beyond bar graphs and pie charts. Nearly none of them know how to search a web page for a word. The kids that try to pass off chat gpt don’t know that they should read the text to make sure that it doesn’t tell me to do further research to double check their findings.
I have multiple 8th grade NC social studies students unaware that they live in N.C. or where the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this Atlantic Ocean is. On the note of not being able to type properly, I struggle with that, even though I never grew up as an iPad kid. It’s just a lot faster for me to type using my index fingers, and it probably has something to do with me being autistic as well, so I wouldn’t immediately suggest that not being able to type the proper way, as being a sign of being behind. I just got home from a STEAM night at my elementary school where I argued with a 3rd grader about how his last name is spelled on something he made to have cut out with our laser cutter. The real kicker….his aunt that brought him didn’t know how to spell it either. I had to show him my list to convince him I was right. Math II teacher here. I asked my students what 1 divided by 1 was. Several shouted “0”, others shouted “2” and most reached for a calculator.
Definitely, tbh this sounds exactly like my former 6th graders (who got promoted to 7th despite barely being able to read and lacking basic math skills) I know it’s just a result of them falling behind in earlier grades and not catching up while still being promoted but it’s still jarring to hear about literal high schoolers with these issues esp since they grow to be the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this adults that continue to have these issues and a lot of people’s first thought is that the education system/their teachers failed them and the system, maybe but as teachers we are doing our best Okay I see these kinda of posts all the time and I want to know who the parents are, because the parents are a huge part of the problem and we can’t solve that problem unless we understand the dynamics. I get that admin keeps passing these kids up and parents refuse to have their kids be held back but there has to be some common thread running through to make sense of all this.
I was one of these kids. Due to a poor home situation, I had gone to 8 different schools by 11th grade. My 4th school was in 8th grade, and it was a private Christian school with entrance tests and strict standards. I was tested to be at 1st grade math and 3rd grade reading levels. By the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this end of 1 year, I had completely caught up to my classmates thanks to the dedication of the teachers and the energy they poured into me. I wish I could have stayed there but our family fell apart again and I ended up moving schools several more times before my 2nd senior year when I managed to graduate by some divine miracle. The energy, care, and affection those teachers provided me was absolutely noticed and I am beyond greatful to them. To any of you pouring out that same effort, I thank you. I cannot fathom how hard its gotten with the proliferation of smart devices and distance learning.
I’ve noticed and found it fascinating that in general, technology skills have gone down for most students in the KenKen Kenta And Kenoh Shirt in addition I really love this last 5 years. When I first started teaching in 2015, most students knew their way around a computer pretty well, including navigating a PC, problem solving to download programs, etc. Nowadays the same age group (elementary school) have huge problems navigating tech. They struggle to log on to their devices. They don’t know how to type in a web address. They can’t type, and they can’t problem solve on their PC. I always was told and thought that each newer generation would become more and more tech literate. Why does it seem like it has gone backwards in the last 5 years? Has anyone else experienced this? My gut reaction is that maybe tech and apps have become too user friendly with all the streaming and instant gratification and such. It’s almost like when they click a button and something doesn’t work, they have no clue how to troubleshoot. They didn’t have to figure out how to download and install a program to play a game or to get on AIM like I did when I was younger. Thoughts?
