The people that don’t do any planning at all usually stay away from adventures like this (with a few weirdos now and then thinking going hiking in flip flops is a good idea). Getting bogged was just one of the many things that could have gone wrong and caused them to get stuck. Going into remote areas like that without a larger group, PLBs, recovery gear is just insane. They nearly became schnitzel and a Maß for the local crocs.
