Am I crazy? 2 looks awful to me, like a flip flop with a heel. It also looks like it would be super uncomfortable. Edit: glad to know people seem to agree with me. When I commented the Joker Collage DC Comics Shirt Furthermore, I will do this top couple of comments were about how 1 is outdated and 2 is much better. And R.I.P your pinky toe after you have to shove it back under the strap 18,594 times a day. Option one has more structure with the two straps, so it will help hold your foot in place better. 2 screams 90s to me. It’s trendy again. But I didn’t like those the first time, don’t like them now. 1 is timeless and classy. I think the reason everyone is saying 2 is better is because of the styling in both photos. In #1 the skinny jeans and the pose of the model make everything look dated. #2 the models feet look better and more comfortable and you can’t really see any clothing to distract you. If you actually look at the structure of the heels #1 is much better in my opinion! Number 2 screams 90’s to me and I can’t remotely identify what it is in the styling that says it to me, and it’s driving me mad Possibly the round circle on the toe, with the block heel (jelly shoes?) edit to add: similar to a low slingback kitten as well. 1, the support behind the heel and ankle help bring the shoe together. 2 looks like it’s not really hanging on and may have been an attempt create a minimalist shoe but it looks awkward and uncomfortable

It’s interesting that people are saying 1 looks dated. I say the Joker Collage DC Comics Shirt Furthermore, I will do this opposite, 2 is too trendy, to the point where you probably won’t reach for them in a year or two. 1 feels more timeless to me and you could get more use of them long-term. The straps across the top of the foot on 1 are pretty timeless, but that type of block heel in combination the peice on the back of the heel read a little dated to me. That specific type has been trendy for the past 5 or so years, so now it seems dated. But you’re correct, 2 is trendy now, but will be dated in a few years. Really there’s no winning. She should just get the ones she likes the most. It’s all about how you style things anyway Yeah, agreed, block heels in general are a trend. A clasic pump or strappy stiletto would probably be more timeless. Definitely just wear what makes you feel good! It sounds like you’re saying the same thing. “Dated” and “timeless” are not actually that far apart! Some people have a preference for longer-lived styles, others will think it’s a poor choice. Timelessness is as much a construct as anything else. In any case, the two shoes are so clearly different style preferences and none of our opinions will really help without seeing what else is in their closet!
