Hard agree. I worked for a business. It was closed book to new business so when we were told there was no room for bonus or increase, we grumbled but understood. One day as she’s operating it, the operations manager walks up to her with his little clipboard with random doodles and starts talking about how the company had paid a lot for this machine and that they hadn’t been expecting to pay it off for a couple years. I mean, that’s a sign that there won’t be massive reorganizing, and bonus objectives will also be met. It’s actually a scary time for workers when a big earnings miss happens. You can walk in to find the door locked & your department outsourced.
