That’s about as good a response as you can possibly get. The fuck kind of equipment would have made that outcome better? Some people man, I swear to gods. Considering the Iron Maul Jedi Killer Shirt but in fact I love this patrol officer had an AR-15 (if it’s the one I’m thinking of), as most do, I’d say they are plenty militarized. There’s really nothing else that they could carry in their patrol car on a daily basis to make it better, with the exception of a throw-on vest that has plates and a ballistic helmet. I mean fuck it, let’s just give them laser designators to call in Hellfire strikes from RQ-4s rocking “POLICE” liveries orbiting every major city, right? lol. Honestly I wouldn’t even be bothered if they carried sub-machine guns openly like they do in Europe, but that’s never what this is about. There’s no specific gear they want. They just want more money. They’ll embezzle it, they’ll waste it, but mostly they just want bigger budgets for more pay and more overtime and more cruisers . They’ll use every mass shooting to push for those things, knowing that even doubling the size of the PD wouldn’t make a difference in mass shootings. What are they expecting? A Minority Report style police force? It was a drive-by… not much that tools/resources could have done to prevent it. SWAT teams are already using the Boston dynamics robot dogs, handheld drones etc, they have MRAPS and armored cars, assault rifles more commonly distributed within a police force. I don’t know what they’re missing besides specialized training for community outreach/mental health calls Police funding seems to always go up. It’s crazy what percentage of most municipal budgets goes just to policing. Every time anything happens, the answer is to throw more money at police, but they never seem to ask why doing that doesn’t actually lead to prevention.

they were probably children themselves. Cincinnati has a real issue with underage crime. The gangs use kids for things like car theft and break ins because they won’t be punished harshly, but of course those kids also tend to commit random violence too. They were probably targeting kids they knew. The founders probably couldn’t see this Iron Maul Jedi Killer Shirt but in fact I love this outcome but unless there is a constitutional repeal then it won’t change Not necessarily: The 2A wasn’t legally seen as protecting individual gun ownership until 2008; gun safety reform was difficult before that, to be sure, but it wasn’t rendered nearly impossible until Heller. Heller ignored two centuries of tradition (and 70 years of explicit precedence) to make things this much harder; a different SCOTUS could affect a similar change in another direction. (Maybe.)
