Seems to me that boss should make you a very generous offer and be very accommodating to you, in order to keep you until they retire. Then make arrangements to sell you the Independence Day 1776 4th Of July United States 4th of july Eagle T-Shirt and by the same token and business at that point. Get the hell outta there. What a freak show this guy is. Yelling at you for asking for a raise? Calling 25 times a day? He sounds abusive. Then to top it off, he tells me that when they hired me a year ago they expected me to work there until either retirement or the company went out of business. I just kinda stared at him when he said that. Leaving is scary, but as someone who was stuck for 15 years and then moved to a state I like, it gets much better. You can enjoy work, get paid for it, live how you’d like. Believe it!

Independence Day 1776 4th Of July United States 4th of july Eagle T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I am retired. I wish someone had told me years ago that a “job” is just that , a job. If you are not committed to long term debt due to college tuition ( and even then, look for even better employment prospects, just don’t tell anyone), then by all means look for another job. You do not “owe” your boss any kind of loyalty whatsoever ( who needs that kind of guilt trip). Employee and employer is a business deal, you sell your time and expertise for a salary. Your employer pays you a salary for your time and experience. If your employer, cannot or will not give you a raise, when asked, then you are free to look for other employment. I however, would give 2 weeks notice, not a month in advance. It kind of keeps your employer from giving you the Independence Day 1776 4th Of July United States 4th of july Eagle T-Shirt and by the same token and “crap” jobs. In other words you have every right to cancel the employer, employee contract at any time. Know how much you are worth and stick to it.
