Not in Mumbai or Pune, majority of people there are very accommodating and willing to even go out of their way to help people who aren’t natives or know marathi. Several instances of locals helping me navigate in smaller localities where the I Will Not Buy Anymore Scrapbook Paper shirt moreover I will buy this signs are only in marathi. Well, Bangalore doesn’t have any place like that, where the signs are only in kannada. As long as you know English, you’re literally good to go in any part of the city. Cuss words was considered highly offensive in who India some time ago mostly generation befor us.( and many other countries who have long past with them ). Don’t cuss , try to live life without cussing OP, you can file a case in court against the police for this and you can sue them for a lot of money because in my eyes, this is discrimination and extremely unfair treatment. I wish you to get a good amount of compensation for this and win the court case

Yeah this is nothing new, cops in Bangalore are quite shitty. My brother’s colleague who just came to bangalore a month prior to the I Will Not Buy Anymore Scrapbook Paper shirt moreover I will buy this incident and his mate who were travelling back home from a party were shaken down for money after the police had confesticated their mobile phones and threatening to file a FIR because they could “smell weed/ganja” from them. It’s not uncommon. Bangalore locals are very proud of their language and culture to a point they are hostile to those who don’t speak their language. There is this one tea shop which I used to frequent when I was in college where the dude kept berating me for not learning kannada. He kept saying that they are forced to learn Hindi to converse with others because we outsiders don’t learn kannada. I get the point of not being able to converse in your local language but dude, there’s no point in learning the local language when you’re in college because almost every college in Bangalore is filled with outsiders and every local shop owner knows Hindi. Why should I learn kannada if both of us already speak Hindi. In my 5 years in Bangalore, other than a few local autos, almost every shop owner of people i converse with on a daily basis knows Hindi. Whether you like it or not, Hindi is the most conversed language in India. A friend of mine once had to pay 5k for a “scratch” on the front bumper of a Swift who driver failed to break early when he was driving fast before a signal and hit my friend’s bike. He talked to the traffic police for a bit and demanded 5k for the damage. Even a new bumper for a Swift doesn’t cost that much.
