But toddlers need a lot of encouragement because they don’t understand their bodies well enough and are twitchy like a cokehead who drank a barrel of coffee. And they’ll turn into raging assholes because they’re hungry but won’t recognize why or stop to eat. I mean, honestly, my kids are both pretty well behaved and generally patient for their ages. They still need guidance though. For their sanity and health and for mine and my husbands. Like, my 3 year old doesn’t like taking a nap. If she was fine without one, that would be fine! She’s not though. She gets so confused when she’s tired and starts saying “Remember how earlier today we made cookies?” when it was like 2 weeks ago. Part of it is teaching structure as well.
