Because of this, I’d bet OP misspoke and their item was actually made-to-order, not custom. This other marble table says, “Natural variations in veining and color will vary,” but it doesn’t say anything about being custom, made-to-order, or non-returnable. The warning is listed in the “Details” portion of this item whereas OP’s item doesn’t say anything about variations in its “Details” portion. They are both “white marble top”s.

I’d argue that all of this likely indicates OP’s item didn’t have a warning about variations. All in all, I feel like OP kinda got screwed on this one. You can’t tell that from a pic. Often the most expensive stones have more fractures in it. Solid looking stone is usually cheaper. From what I understand yes. The white to dark ratio is part of the “quality” of the stone. I’m not sure if the dark spots are true imperfections or aesthetic imperfections. Honestly though I would have been thrilled, the stone he got is way more figured and interesting than the pic. I didn’t think anybody bought marble to celebrate its plain-ness.
