From those destinations you mentioned, Marseille is actually the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this most dangerous. Prague and Budapest are the safest, Oslo is OK. I walked around at dusk in Budapest as a solo female, nothing happened (other than a few taxi drivers overcharging me, but whatever) Hungary is safe. Nope. My family was the same way and honestly i felt way less safe in my home state of texas than i ever did abroad in europe I’m in a better part of the US than Texas, but I’m sure that europe is just as safe or safer than NE, contrary to My parents opinions It is mostly safe, but there are some scam artists. I was in Budapest. Ppl will come up to travelers pretending to be friends and will manipulate them into spending money. Worst case, could this lead to abduction? Unlikely, but possible.
Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt: A Provocative Statement in Modern Fashion
I just would be smart about it. Do you have street smarts? Have you done something like this before? Maybe do some research on single female travel. If I was your dad I’d also be nervous, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go. You will be fine as long as you are cautious. Beware of your surroundings, don’t walk around as an easy target (looking lost, confused) because it’ll attract pickpockets or even more dangerous people. I went to 7 European countries alone (Portugal, Germany, uk, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium.) and I was 100% fine but I did not interact with strangers at all. And I was super aware of my surroundings. Don’t even hand someone your phone to take your picture because you never know. When you say Eastern Europe maybe they think it’s the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this countries some people would call The Middle East. I’m not saying everyone gets kidnapped in those countries, but I do think that in some of them it is more likely to happen. For Hungary tho, without having been there myself, I think it’s a really safe place to travel alone. Everywhere there are possibilities of getting kidnapped, rped, violated etc etc. If you’re out late just stay on bigger streets where there are multiple people. I (18 f) just solo travelled to Spain and that’s what I was told.
12 years ago I went do Budapest alone, and then to Vienna, Prague and Barlin all by train. Absolutely wonderful experience, as was my 1st solo travel. Just do not reply to ALL on the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this street, when they try to sell you something or give you free drinks (this applies to everywhere in the world of course). Don’t miss it!! Go! Wish I had 20 yo to start travelling before :))) Why don’t you show some travel Instagram profile or YouTube videos to your parents, to show you many people like to travel alone. And videos from Budapest ? Go go! Don’t miss it I am from Poland, live in London now, and have been to Marseille and to Budapest out of your list. Budapest for me felt very safe at any point of day and night, so do all cities I’ve been to in Poland. Central and Eastern European countries are the safest in Europe probably. Or maybe Iceland is haha

Marseille it did. feel sketchier but kind of similar to parts of London, and nothing actually happened maybe just seeing homeless and drunk people You’re far more likely to be the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this victim of a vehicle traffic accident than you are a sex trafficking situation. Honestly I think we hear all these stories as women, and of course some extra precautions need to be taken (just like at home). But at any given time, at a young age, our biggest risk of injury or death is a physical accident. No one thinks about it cos it’s so mundane! This is a parent thing. Some of them never stop worrying! Mine had a near fit when I went to Italy at 42!! Honestly you’ll be just fine, and they’ll get over it. Budapest is a massive city with a vibrant culture and population. It’s just as safe/dangerous as basically any other world capital. As long as you have common sense you’ll be fine. As with any travel to an unfamiliar place, don’t go out alone at night, be mindful of your surroundings, and research neighborhoods — all things that it sounds like you’re already doing/planning on doing! I’m from Sofia, Bulgaria and I grew up in the US getting similar reactions from my friend’s parents when I would invite them to come visit over the summer. It’s just that, unfortunately, a lot of people think of cities like these as poor and unsafe, but the reality is they’re beautiful historic places that are MASSIVELY popular with tourists from all over the planet. Budapest is a very beautiful city and it would be a shame not to visit it. BTW – most of the tourists I have seen in Budapest are actually Americans.
Well, not really helpful but I guess this solo female traveler is about to get kidnapped on Thursday then. I feel considerably safer in Budapest than London, Paris, Madrid, Athens, New York, LA, etc. Hungary is a great place for women to travel! There is a huuuuge community of Aussies on their gap year there. It’s safe. There will be a language barrier with some of the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this older people, but genuinely pretty easy to navigate and actually quite lovely. Make sure to spend some time on Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube. Also go to the baths— during the day for relaxation and at night for a touristy party. Wtf?! I was in Budapest recently and always felt safe. I was in the touristy area along the River Danube. Both sides. I went as a solo female.
Just go and enjoy Budapest. It’s a beautiful city. Always be careful wherever you go in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this world. Don’t let your parents fear monger. Thanks for the reply! I didn’t really think that I would be in danger, but my parents pessimism was getting to me a bit. I feel a lot more confident about this trip now Hi girl from Eastern Europe here, visited and been there along many other Eastern europe countries and cities, my advice don’t travel alone and be aware of strangers, trust me percentage of missing persons there is higher than they are telling Eastern Europe despite all this fearmongering is extremely save. Just stick to the common rule to not run around in shady areas at night in big cities and you’ll do fine. Not to mention eastern Europe ppl will likely not even bother you in a negative way as in other parts of Europe by now.
altough I might get downvoted but I don’t consider France save whatsoever, been there twice in bigger cities and will only visit countryside of my uncle but that’s it now. Never a big city again. And especially not Paris. I hope I’ll never have to see such a mess before I die ever again There is danger in all travels, keep your wits about you. DO NOT drink anything you dont buy and open yourself. You’ll be fine. But dont slip, the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this world is a dangerous place. I was going to mention that you may want to look at some other options in Southern France. Marseille isn’t the safest place. When you are walking anywhere alone you walk with your head high like you belong there and like you know where you’re going, even if you don’t. Walk at a good pace and with purpose like you have things to do.
Don’t flash your tech and jewellery in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this street unless you’re in an area where its common to. Look at how the local women dress and try to emulate it. If someone tries to stop you in the street don’t break your stride, just politely decline and keep it moving, you’ve got things to do. Don’t trust anyone if you’re traveling alone. If you order a drink, watch them open it/make it. Don’t leave your drink unattended if you go to bathroom and if you forget and leave it unattended, buy a new drink. Have a great time!!! also don’t ever be alone with any strange man but this goes for any city! If you stay at a hostel that’s a great way to meet other girlies your age and their guy friends etc Very safe. Just use common sense and stay aware of your surroundings like you would at home. Have a wonderful trip!
Oslo will be a great test to determine what kind of traveler you’ll be. There is vert little tourism but every city has so much to offer. May I suggest schous-kjelleren if you fancy a beer. Budapest is several orders of magnitude safer than Marseille. Eastern Europe is, in general, safer than Western Europe. That’s absurd. Go to the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this Pub ruins. And do the labyrinth under the castle. It’s a great place to visit. I’d be more scared if some one your age was solo traveling to the Bronx It’s changed a bit since the 60’s. I can’t think of anywhere in Europe where that’s a risk. Whilst sex trafficking certainly exists, they generally coerce women from poor rural communities into sex work and then force them to work. Even in places like India, no one wants to target tourists because it draws too much attention.
I toured solo a few years ago (am female) and felt super safe! I did some free guided walks to ground myself in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this city, and even travelled by bus/train to the Soviet statue park!!! Say you’re going on free guided tours and it might help put their mind at ease 🙂 Last year, Budapest was chosen as the safest European city for women. I stayed there as an exchange student for 1 year and went out dozens of times a night, alone, and I was always safe. There are many beautiful women in Europe. You are not special. Don’t underestimate yourself. Tried to post a luggage discussion this morning and it was auto-deleted. This idiot posts “am I going to get kidnapped?” And gets a hundred upvotes. Reddit is fucked. Honestly tho, Eastern Europe was a different place when your parents were growing up. I think you’ll be fine today.
Probably the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this safest city of all those you are visiting. Oslo’s is not that safe anymore. The only problem in Budapest are the p*rn and adult industry recruiters. They actually exist and target solo travellers no joke I’d be more worried about France than Budapest. I went to Budapest solo and had no problems. You come across a few groups on a stag weekend but they are usually no problem. A few years ago a high school canceled its trip to Europe bc of fears of their children being kidnapped. All bc of a move. Budapest is beautiful. Like with any major city, use common sense, don’t wander dangerous streets at night and you’ll be fine. A few years ago a high school canceled its trip to Europe bc of fears of their children being kidnapped. All bc of a move. As I said on another post, CBS is airing a TV show called FBI: International that follows a team of FBI agents solving crimes committed by Americans or against Americans in Europe. Some episodes are controversial, but the most controversial was the episode that suggested Sweden is drowning in Neo-Nazi gangs who kill anyone who looks Syrian. I live in Budapest. It’s completely safe. Ofc there are worse neighbourhoods and you have to watch out for pickpockets on public transport bit it’s a tourist friendly vibrant city. Marseille is more dangerous but it’s still ok I’m a woman who’s travelled extensively in Western and Eastern European cities. You will be absolutely fine as long as you’re not totally daft and take usual precautions. Eastern cities feel a lot safer than Western cities (worst one for me was Paris). Prague and Budapest are fine.
Incidentally Europe as a whole feels a fuckton safer than America where any idiot on the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this street might be carrying a concealed weapon. As a foreigner I found that concept genuinely way scarier when I was there than any other place I’ve ever travelled. Hi! I have solo traveled all over Europe as a woman. My first trip was when I was 22 and 10 years later I’m still solo traveling when I can. I lived in Budapest for a year and moved there knowing literally no one. You will be 100% fine. If you have questions you can message me and I can give you any tips 🙂 Budapest is amazing, and we felt perfectly safe there! My opinion, too – it’s safer than Marseille. I’ve been to both. There’s a danger for travelers anywhere, including in the U.S. Just use your best judgment, don’t go out and drink alone, and stick to areas where there are a good amount of people. Take a taxi instead of walking alone at night or in off-the-beaten-path places. Wear a money belt instead of a purse. Don’t wear jewelry that might tempt a thief. Again, this applies to traveling anywhere. It was late at night, a guy offered to walk me back to where I was staying but I declined as I didn’t want him getting the wrong idea (probably just a nice guy). So I walked alone. A man kept following me around in his van telling me he will bring me back to wherever I was staying. I ended up having to run while crying my eyes out and luckily bumped into a couple of people who walked me back thankfully. But yes just don’t walk alone at night, common sense anyway, which I clearly didn’t have. Stay with people from your hostel and you’ll be fine!
As parents they worry, especially traveling by yourself to overseas. You’re are brave & independent, kudos to you. I’d be a wreck as a father if my daughter would to do same. Safe travels & keep us posted Boomers gonna boom, they’ll say this if you go anywhere that isn’t in western Europe, Australia or japan, or probably even if you go to New York or Los angeles Budapest is a very safe city. More so than most major cities in France or Britain, and significantly more so than anywhere in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this US. Sounds like they’re stuck way back in time when Eastern Europe was felt to be too sketchy, etc. I agree with you that Marseille is probably going to be the most sketchy out of that list. Budapest is very safe.
I was always too scared to go to Eastern Europe my myself and ended up going WITH my mum. Budapest was a total breeze and just a nice big city in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this end and I felt like I made a fuss over nothing lol. Afterwards, I did go to Croatia alone and was approached by persistent random men twice, being followed home one of those times. From my experience greater care is required there but you haven’t said you’re going If you watch the true to life documentary film Hostel you’ll get a good idea of what it’s like to travel Europe as an American. No. Budapest was my very first solo trip when I was 25f. It was so much fun. I would recommend staying in a social hostel, it’s definitely more fun with people (at night at least). Plenty to do during the day by yourself. I didn’t get kidnapped solo traveling to Budapest, but I did fail to visit the Torture Museum and it’s my biggest disappointment. So please go and I’ll live vicariously through you.
there are lots of young women walking all around budapest by themselves all the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this time students working just hanging out or otherwise and its normal Danger is everywhere. Just don’t be stupid. Pay attention and be aware of your surroundings. Know where the consulate or embassy is located if anything becomes sketchy. Share your location with a trusted friend or relative. Otherwise, enjoy your trip. parents acting this way cus thanks to decades of US/Western propaganda USAians are irrationally afraid of ‘communism’ and think anywhere Eastern Europe is inherently ‘communist’ #xenophobia Maybe in Marseille you will be kidnapped, but hopefuly not even there. Budapest is so safe. You are just another tourist, no one will find you special to kidnap
sounds like our families are the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this same. my family has always been “anti-leaving the US for any reason whatsoever” I actually found travelling through Europe as a woman is that less “safe” countries were often more safe for me because I could afford to stay in the city center and do guided tours, where as in places like Paris or London I could only afford unsafe areas. I had no idea about the kidnapping thing when I was in Budapest, unsure if that was a thing. I had a lot of fun and felt very safe in the city center staying in a nice hostel. Personally I wouldn’t go to Marseilles it’s a little dirty and scary but Budapest?? That’s one of the safest cities in Europe I don’t see what there is to be scared of.. I met some Hungarians and we drank wine In a graveyard. We could hardly communicate so we bonded over playing skrillix.
I’m a woman too, lived in Budapest for a couple years and was out at like 4 am completely blasted drunk for more times than I can count and never felt unsafe in the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this slightest. Even less so while sober during daytime! Since you don’t even plan on drinking or going out at night, you’re going to be more than fine lmao. Hungary is Central Europe. I have been to Budapest, and all over Central Europe, numerous times. Your parents are being ridiculous, you are going to be just fine. I’ve always felt incredibly safe there. I’d be way more concerned for my safety going to the US. It’s hard, I get the worry, you’re their baby and you’ll be far away and on your own. But that applies to anywhere you might go alone. Budapest is almost like a rite of passage for any young solo traveller these days, no need to skip it, it’s as safe as anywhere else and an absolute blast. I spent a week there and I didn’t want to leave, I think about going back all the time… damn I’m jealous your going soon!
I went to Prague the Gt-r Festival 2025 shirt but in fact I love this year before and the area right by the station was slightly sketchy but overall it was amazing and I never felt unsafe There are plenty others beautiful cities in France , I personally wouldn’t recommend Marseille for a young woman first time solo trip. Eastern European cities are generally significantly safer than Western European cities. I say that as someone from the uk who lived in eastern Europe for four years. Never once felt unsafe or under threat from other people, and I have done on several occasions in cities in the uk. Aside from that, Budapest is a beautiful city so enjoy! Take a walk up gellert hill- beautiful views- and make sure to check out one of the ruin bars.
