I get refer to as the white skater with half my mates, because I’m the only white dude. not hing racists about it. Don’t sweat the dumb things. If it doesn’t make logical sense, don’t run with it. All you said was descriptors that were true. A large black man, which when around smaller white men, makes it a good way to single out who you mean. My mother is a prime example, she whispers when she mentions our neighbours are two gay men. She isn’t homophobic but she feels like it’s a bad thing to mention it to people and they might see her as being bigoted. It isn’t. It’s the truth.

I just met a guy to sell an iPad to from marketplace and he described himself as “the Grossmont high school alumni shirt moreover I love this tall black guy with a hoodie on by the door”. Was he racist too? Comedian Greg Giraldo joked that using code to describe black people is way worse that just referring to the skin color. The examples he cites is people who can run fast and have gigantic penises. Not really but I think it’s going to be uncomfortable if someone can be identified by their race because it means they are the only one of that race around normally. (Unless there were multiple skinny black guys on the team.) People will be more sensitive because they don’t want that person to feel isolated and using their race as a descriptor might make them feel that way. Dude at the end of the day, every single one of us, human beings is just a variation of brown! Some of us are darker. Some of us are lighter, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what you said! The problem is that certain people have been trying to keep racism on life-support and wherever it doesn’t exist they feel the need to turn very simple and entirely harmless/benign situations into something “Racial”.
