Very satisfying. 6h agoI personally find colour analysis questionable at best, have you tried an orange red yourself or do you just assume it won’t work? There’s more to red than warm to cool, orange to blue, there’s also muted to saturated, light to dark. The Merit lipstick you mention definitely looks very bright and could look neon pink because it seems to have this white base to it. It’s not the colour of your lips it’s the colour of your skin that’s affecting the way it looks. Have you tried a more muted red? 3ina matte lipstick in 270 looks like a deep muted wine pink in swatches but on my face it transforms to a classic red. Finding the right red lipstick is almost as difficult as finding the right tone of foundation. Good luck!
The color analysis I did was in-person, and it was like a 3 hour process, so pretty thorough! I think I lean very neutral. It was very hard for them to figure out if I was warm or cool because I was so close to the Grinch eagers ew, Dallas shirt it is in the first place but border. But they settled on cool because the warm colors made my face look a little more yellow. It was very clear that I look best in saturated colors rather than muted. I also look a lot better in darker colors. Some of my best were colors like charcoal, pine green, dark emerald, burgundy. I know that when I try muted lipsticks such as Merit in Tiger, my face has a more chalky look and looks less clear/fresh/bright. I also own Merit in Vermillion which I will keep trying. It doesn’t look terrible (I think it helps that it’s bright, not muted), but I think I look just slightly more sickly in those orange undertones. One shade that works super well with my skin tone is Merit L’Avenue. It has that deep color and leans fairly neutral. But it’s really not that bold red! So I was really hoping one of Merit’s red shades would work, but they’re looking either too orange or too pink on me!
I think some browns may look good. Back when Glossier Gen G Leo was a warmer brown, I liked wearing that shade a lot. And Merit L’Avenue is described as berry brown, almost a reddish brown. I don’t own a burgundy lipstick, but I love wearing burgundy clothes, so I could see that working! Maybe I do need to just give up on that super bright red look and try out that brown/berry/burgundy type range more! I’m kind of curious to try Merit Equestrian. Maybe I can do warm or cool as long as it has depth and it not too orange or muted. From what you’re saying I think we might have similar lipstick issues. Even though I am fair (with a yellow/green sorta mustard tone) my colouring turns every lip product brighter and lighter. Most of my favourite lipstick is deep berry. A couple of reds I like are KVD Liquid Lipstick in Jupiter’s Eye and 3ina Matte Lipstick in 270. Huda Liquid Matte Lipstick in Drama Mama turns to a deep burgundy on me. If I want something bright I go for Milani Colour Fetish Matte in Fleur.
I could definitely see some colors like that working out for me! I really like Glossier Gen G in Jam, so I think things with berry and brown tones work well for me also! I’m debating exchanging my two red Merit lipsticks. Do you think Equestrian and Maison could work? Those both have berry and brown tones, but it’s so hard to predict exactly how they will look! I don’t know if it’s even possible to get something to show up as a totally true red or if I should just give up on that haha. I had almost given up on a true red, but a brownish wine (like 3ina 270) shows up exactly like a true neutral red on me. I don’t wear foundation so I haven’t tried any in recent years. I think I can pull off gold and silver, but I think gold makes my skin look more yellow and silver brightens it based on when I was trying metal glasses recently. I burn and don’t tan. I think I lean neutral, but I feel fairly certain I’m cool since I did in-person professional color analysis which was like a 3 hour process haha! Doing a search, I found this short (originally from TikTok and uploaded to Youtube) that suggested using a brick/brown red lipstick on top on a blue-based red. I’m wondering if a brown-nude or brick lip liner under Merit Power would give you what you want? I also found this older thread on here from a Redditor who had a similar problem with blue-based reds going pink on them. With layering, do you know if you could layer with actual lipsticks rather than lip liner? I really love the Merit formulas, but they don’t have lip liners.
I’ve seen a couple of seasonal colour analysis videos on Youtube where a client has an olive skintone but is typed as cool, I think also analyzed to be Deep/Dark Winter. In your case, you could have some olive going on in your skintone, or you could simply be neutral-to-cool, where cooler tones may work better for you generally, but you can wear some warmer ones as long as they have some depth to them (you likely know your “sister season” is Deep/Dark Autumn).Thank you! I think that is very true that I can wear some warm colors with depth. Like I actually love how I look in dark olive as long as it has depth and saturation (not dusty). I am not sure if I’m olive at all. I started meditation around 2.5 years ago to aid in self-discovery, create focus, and to help combat negative feelings. I stopped consistently meditation about year ago. Meditation has been extremely helpful in learning more about myself. I used to wander this life in complete mindlessness and always living in the past or the future. I still am living in the past and future but I believe I becoming better at acknowledging that and trying to bring myself back in to the present. I think the point is being aware that you are in the past in the future. I have ADHD and I think meditation has helped me to create focus on demand and not feel so fearful of the responsibilities I have in my life. My thoughts were clearer.
Meditation was helpful in combatting negative thoughts and helped me to take a step back so that I can see big picture. one teacher i know recommends people do some tai chi that focuses on releasing if they are coming up against too much anxiety. Its like a half way step to meditation, and also helps train the Grinch eagers ew, Dallas shirt it is in the first place but system to release tensions, rather than hold them, which can then transfer through to life and meditation later on. Also, I volunteer at a cancer support community while I’m looking for jobs. They offer a tai chi class on Fridays so I might see if I can join if we’re not too busy. its someone who has a bunch of free stuff on youtube, i think i saw a link to his stuff from another reddit post originally. If your meditation is producing discomfort or poor results, do some research and find a course or teacher who produces results that appeal to you.

Learn to leave the circle (the mind) alone and the mind will natural settle itself.I know meditation makes me walk like I have my head in the clouds after. I just do different kinds. Cuz yeah it can feel detrimental if the goal is to improve but like your mind becomes dull. I’m like ahh maybe I’m not grounded but the act of doing a grounding meditation makes me more spacey.
Clarity is achievable. It took me many years to navigate but if someone guided me it wouldn’t take that long I’m sure. I don’t do that kind anymore. I favor approaches that make me more physically aware. I should have phrased that differently. You can even visualize with your eyes open and in fact I prefer it because I find with closed eyes my attention goes towards the tension in my eyes / eyelids and its takes away from my focus. Sometimes I’ll meditate with my eyes half open. Sometimes I do eyes closed but for me it’s not a rule. There’s so many ways you can place your attention. I could rant about this.
