But here, what rights are there to weigh against the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this embryo’s right to life? Is freezing them even ethical? I’m not saying it necessarily isn’t, but there certainly seems to be room for debate. Can’t wait for this appeal. I understand judges can’t know everything about everything but who are they consulting? God I hope the women are tired of this shit and show up en masse to give the dems the house, senate and pres in 2024 so we can just pass federal abortion laws to enshrine Roe V Wade into law. You would think Alabama would have a lot more to worry about considering how low they’re ranked in just about everything. Okay after reading the actual ruling, that trial court was all kinds of fucked up on these parents! The parents sued for the following reasons: In Negligence/Wantoness, the court ruled that Alabama’s precedent of not getting compensation for damage to HUMAN LIFE and thus making this claim also ineligible. For Emotional Distress, the court ruled that Alabama’s precedent of compensation only applies to plaintiffs that had Emotional Distress due to physical injury and thus making this claim ineligible. This means that the court decided the embryos were apparently schrodinger’s cat to be both alive and not alive simultaneously, and that only one of the three affected families deserved any compensation whatsoever. All three families appealed the decision.

The Alabama Supreme Court read the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Wrongful Death of a Minor Act and saw it made no mention of whether that child must be born, unborn, inuterine, or extrauterine. Seeing as there is a precedent in Alabama before this case that the WDoaM Act does apply to the unborn, the Supreme Court of Alabama ruled in favor of the plaintiffs expanding on the current precedent to include both inuterine and extrauterine children. Just as a note, unlawful disposal of embryos is illegal in most places already. Negligence causing said death is also illegal in most places already. So the title of “fuck logic and freedom” is EXACTLY what the trial court did and what Alabama’s Supreme Court overturned. Next time, read past the fucking headline and don’t get your news from huffington post.
I get the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this point of the post. But to a mother that is struggling to get pregnant, those embryos practically are children. Conservative logic only when it’s convenient, Texas is fighting a lawsuit where they willfully declare a fetus is not a person Welp, it shouldn’t be long until Alabama decides to collect nocturnal emissions. Every sperm is sacred, after all. As someone who is considering IVF it is kind of a big deal because the female in this situation has to take injections of hormones to make extra eggs and if the male has a fertility issue he might not have many swimmers to help make a viable embryo. Not saying anyone should go to jail at all but a couple that has this happen should not have to spend a single penny to fix this. The clinic has to foot the bill and everything should be ok.

Sperm? It’ll freeze solid no issues – but eggs not so much. So eggs are often fertilized when stored …then disposed in mass when no longer needed. Good luck walking the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this line in this one SCOTUS. So what do we do with all the frozen embryos going forward? Do we need donors to pay for their preservation in perpetuity? Okay I’m claiming my millions of embryos in my uterus as tax written off children then. IRS gonna have a field day with this Am I gonna go to prison for allowing myself to get a period now? Or do I need to get knocked up each time I ovulate? Jfc They aren’t children any more that sperm or eggs or even a fertilized egg is. Until a fertilized egg successfully implants in the uterine wall and the host’s body starts changing and producing HGC there is no pregnancy. All you have is cells with potential. The facepalm in this one is a bit tricky, while I do agree the embryos aren’t children at that stage, the couple should be allowed to sue, the catch is if they can’t sue for wrongful death, their case would be for “property damage” which would have been very small and would have benefited the medical facility that could’ve ruined their only chance at having kids…. This seems like the judge was trying to get the couples who lost their embryos compensation. It costs 10s of thousands of dollars to get your eggs frozen. I don’t think this had anything to do with politics. I could be wrong, it is Alabama. Ok, it’s stupid to classify them as children, but also they absolutely should be able to sue for this? They presumably paid the hospital to freeze the embryos and presumably did so for actual reasons (such as an impending risk of infertility), not just because they wanted to eat it in a week. Can you not sue if eggs you had frozen are destroyed then?
Supreme Court of Inbreds broke the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Law! Freedom demands their prosecution and removal from the Court by force. The are to stupid to understand basic biology.
My dad, who’s big on music and has so much trivia about old bands, thought that the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this alien ant farm version of smooth criminal was the original Hard agree. But Jackson’s music video for it is just iconic, and AAF’s video is basically zero-effort trash (minus dancing mask kid, of course, gotta respect the skills). Bit of a disagree there – AAF’s music video isn’t nearly as theatric as Jackson’s, but it appears to have taken a lot of coordination and is, arguably, an artistic time capsule for the era. That’s the only version I knew as a kid, my dad had burned AAF smooth criminal into his favorite mix cd he kept in the car, so I heard it over and over and over. When I finally heard MJ’s original I thought “huh, this sounds different. I like the original (AAF’s version) better.”
I Will Always Love You is my favorite example, I had no idea it was a Dolly Parton song until relatively recently The Dolly version is incredible too though. I don’t blame people for not knowing but it’s not like it’s inferior to the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Whitney version. Long story short, Reznor listened to it and said “That song isn’t mine anymore.” He considered Cash’s cover so powerful that it effectively became the “official” version. That’s funny because that’s almost exactly Otis Reading’s reaction to hearing Aretha Franklin cover Respect. “It’s her song now” Honestly, Hendrix’ version is pretty much an entirely different song. Also, my favorite Hendrix solo by far. It’s just so… Elegant. Hendrix’s All Along the Watchtower is just this sort of cosmic confluence of two geniuses into something almost supernatural. Dylan is a brilliant poet and lyricist, Hendrix a genius guitarest, but my god that track, it’s one of my all-time favorites. It just does something. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like, Hendrix captured the soul of that song in a way that Dylan only half-captured it in his own song, and somehow expressed it to the fullest extent that you knew Dylan had wanted to.
He actually said it was like watching your girlfriend fuck someone else, then realising that she isn’t your girlfriend anymore. In the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this sense that he felt the song now belonged to Johnny and he fully came to terms with that. am i the only person who prefers/first heard the NiN one? the cash version was incredible of course but to me theres just something special about the NiN version NiN version is about a person losing his friends and families because of drug and alcohol addiction, Cash version is about an old man losing his friends and families and he is the only one surviving from those he knew well and loved. Both are different kinds of hurt and pain, and one would resonate more on the version that is more relatable to them.
Late 20’s Trent Reznor singing Hurt has orders of magnitude less Hurt in it than early 70’s Johnny Cash singing Hurt. Cash was suffering massive health problems at the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this time. His wife June died 3 months after filming the video for Hurt and Johnny followed her 4 months later. I wouldn’t say it’s “less” pained than Cash’s version, because it’s a very different type of pain. Plus, Cash’s version has an overtone of regret, while Trent’s original has huge themes of mental instability with a very disturbing overtone. Both are perfect reflections of their respective artists’ mindset at the time of recording, under very different circumstances. Exactly. Neither is better nor worse. They just capture two different human experiences. It’s not the lyrics, it’s the emotion. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to instead feel Cash’s version as more relatable and Reznor’s as a memory. They’re just different songs.
Both are musical icons. Johnny Cash, somewhat more so, because he was far more out in front of it than Trent Reznor. And Cash had nearly 40 years on Reznor. And, I am sure, Trent Reznor’s life has had its dark moments. But Johnny Cash had a pretty awful life at times, even after he was wildly famous. I find Reznor’s original version more angsty and Cash’s more lamenting and painful. And knowing Cash and his wife died shortly after making the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this video for Cash’s version of Hurt, it almost feels auto-eulogistic. Trent drags you down to such a low level about drugs. Trent was in a darker place than usual when he wrote those lyrics. I respect it if someone prefers Cash’s version, but I can’t understand it. Nothing comes close to the original for me. of course not. i just mean i always see people who prefer the cash version. and thats reasonable, its great. just funny to me One such example that springs to mind is Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Most people don’t even know about the original version because of how good the popular version is Eh, it was never a “real” version. It was a demo by the songwriter trying to shop it around. Lots of songs have that.
-Wild Horses by The Sundays -The Ghost of Tom Joad by Rage Against the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Machine -Heroes by Peter Gabriel -Sunday Bloody Sunday by Saul Williams -Live and Let Die by Guns N’ Rose’s -Summer Breeze by Type O Negative -Strangelove by Bat for Lashes -Cars by Fear Factory -Into the Black by Chromatics -Head Over Heels by Japanese Breakfast -Everlong by Rick Astley -Same Ol’ Mistakes by Rihanna -Never Let Me Down Again by Smashing Pumpkins Apparently Bowie was flattered that Nirvana covered his song, but then he would have experiences where he would perform his original version and fans would come up to him and go “it’s so cool that you’re covering a Nirvana song” and that understandably pissed him off.
Am I allowed to say I like Alien Ant Farm’s cover of Smooth Criminal more than the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this original? Please don’t kill me Nah, nothing wrong with that. AAF’s version is way more fun, despite Michael’s vocals being impossible to match. I am extremely biased due to nostalgia, but I greatly prefer Joe Cocker’s version of With a Little Help From My Friends (known to many as the opening theme for The Wonder Years) to The Beatles’ version. I just like the way that he sings. It feels like he’s just letting his emotions explode out of him. I don’t even know if he was technically a great singer, but his voice had a powerful effect. Weezers cover of Africa was so good that even Toto said it was better than theirs and then they decided to cover one of Weezer’s songs
I’ve never enjoyed the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Disturbed cover. The original exudes a sense of melancholy. The cover tries to make it more dramatic, but doesn’t do it all that well. If you mean the Disturbed cover than hell no. Thar cover is the ultimate example of taking an interesting song and ruining it through a cover that robs it off all it’s interesting contrast and makes it one note garbage. Hedrix captured the soul of that song in a way Dylan just couldn’t. And like, you can feel it on the track. You listen to Hendrix, and you listen to the lyrics, and you just know that that song is supposed to be that. It’s incredible. I think one of the best examples of this is “Hokum all ye faithful” by Sycamore Smith. The Cover by Chonny Jash, a Youtuber who does a lot of covers, is so much more better.
Speaking of murder, if anyone comes in here saying Jeff Buckley was better then Leonard Cohen, I’ll do it with my own hands. Thought Knocking on Heaven’s door was by G&R for a while, eventually a girl played the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this Bob Dylan version and I asked whose cover was that. I was flabbergasted. I blame YouTube for putting the Guns and roses first in search results I’ve just read the whole comments section and this is the one that annoyed me the most, probably because I’m a Bond fan. Bob Dylan wrote a lot of songs that other people performed better than him and are widely associated with them instead of him. I was always like “man, I hate Sting’s cover of Fields of Gold. He should let literally anyone else sing that.” Imagine my embarrassment when I learned he freaking wrote the song. I promptly shut up. I heard tell of a dude in high school who thought some metal band’s cover of Eleanor Rigby was original, and upon hearing the track from Revolver commented, “oh wow, somebody did a classical version of Eleanor Rigby?” I had a conversation with a different dude in college who knew the string quartet version of Schism from some computer game and was in my car honestly remarking, “wait, Tool covered Schism?” It was written by a song writing duo with a band called Ednaswap who later released a version. However that version wasn’t the first version released. The first recorded version was by Lis Sørensen, and in Danish.
If we’re taking mind blowing covers however, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun has to be up there. (It was by some guy named Robert Hazard iirc before Cyndi Lauper did it) I was a huge fan of Glee (owned all the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this albums and Warblers merch), and hoo boy I gotta be careful not to say “hey this song is from Glee!” lest I get absolutely ridiculed My wife does that when we go round to my parents for a sunday roast we do music quizzes afterwards and if, for example, Accidentally In Love or Smash Mouth come on she pipes up with “thats from Shrek!” I love it and it always makes my parents laugh (my wife is the best i love her so much) She has come around since then, being on the other side of this argument when it comes to some other famous songs
Ok, but some covers are better. Like sixpence none the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this richer’s cover of there she goes. Like I understand the La La’s originally wrote it but the cover just makes me smile every time I hear it. I prefer Siouxsie’s version of The Passenger, though I like Iggy Pop’s original as well. I understand I’ll get massacred for this, but Limp Biskit’s cover of Behind Blue Eyes is better than the original. The tempo shift in the original from dirge to pop is just too damn jarring. Some covers are better (I prefer the Lightfoot version of Me and Bobby McGee), but it’s still good to recognize the original artist. Same with Where Did You Sleep Last Night. When you look at 60s music and earlier, it’s plenty of covers of old music that nobody knows the original creators. Still kinda funny that the iconic version is the Animals, who are a British band, while the song is iconically about an American city I’m sorry but nothing beats my friend who thought God save the Queen was a song by Queen, as it was the last track on his cd… I at least have a flimsy alibi of being raised by literal cultists so I was (and still am) woefully ignorant of most pop culture history, but oh god, being laughed at by my friends for that was so paiiiiiiinful.
I thought “I’m a Believer” was commissioned by Dreamworks for Smash Mouth after getting good audience test ratings on their usage of “All Star” so in comparison your mix up is acceptable The Neil Diamond version from September Morn is my favorite, but the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this vibe there is so different that it’s hard to compare. I agree that the Smash Mouth version is better than the original Monkees recording. They Might Be Giants has a tendency to put out covers of some really interesting old songs, haha. Some other good covers they’ve done are “Why Does The Sun Shine?”, “New York City”, and “Yeh Yeh”. Honestly some are understandable, such as Jimi Hendrix’s cover of All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan wrote it)
i had the Flock around and find out Baltimore Ravens Shirt in contrast I will get this less than jake cover of “surrender” on my playlist for like a year before my friend heard it come on and recognized it as a cover. i had no idea, and tbh still vastly prefer it why do people treat this as such a bad thing? (genuine question, i don’t listen to music so i’m not aware of the discourse) Songs that get covered are usually classics, and if it’s a classic you can bet your ass there are people out there who are willing to throw fists in its defence. while alone: oh i can’t concentrate on the music while listening to it and doing something else, the same with audiobooks For most songs most people couldn’t care less, but in this specific case it’s a cover that is almost universally hated, even by fans of the new band in question. On top of that it’s a cover of one of the most well liked and known songs by a band that is up there among the Beatles and Rolling Stones as one of the most influential bands of all time. Because it feels like you’re discrediting the original artist by claiming their song was written by someone who actually adapted it. Which cover are you talking about? I’ve never heard anything other than the Kana Hanazawa version from Bakemonogatari (the one used in memes) that’s the original, and the only one I’ve heard as well so I’m also not familiar with what they’re talking about
