The iconic turkey drop scene on your chest

This WKRP Turkey Drop T-shirt is a direct homage to the chaotic holiday stunt from the beloved 1978 sitcom. The design features the “First Annual WKRP Thanksgiving Day Turkey Drop” slogan, capturing the exact moment when live turkeys were dropped from a helicopter during a radio ad. Fans who remember the original broadcast will recognize this First Annual WKRP Thanksgiving Tee immediately. It brings the humor of the Turkeys Away WKRP Shirt to life with a nostalgic graphic that resonates with anyone who grew up watching syndicated reruns.

Why this design resonates with GenX fans

This retro sitcom apparel piece appeals strongly to viewers who appreciate vintage TV merchandise and classic comedy fan gifts. The white circular graphic contrasts sharply against the black fabric, highlighting the city skyline and helicopter illustration in a way that feels authentic to the era. As a 1978 WKRP Episode Shirt, it taps into GenX Thanksgiving Tradition Tee culture, where families often rewatch specific episodes annually. This Classic TV Sitcom Graphic Tee works as both a conversation starter at holiday gatherings and a comfortable daily wear item for radio station humor enthusiasts.

Product details and material

This black cotton tee is made from soft, breathable fabric with a durable white screen print that holds up well through multiple washes. The unisex fit ensures comfort for all fans of the series, whether worn casually or as part of a holiday costume. The single-color print keeps the design crisp and legible, maintaining the integrity of the skyline and helicopter artwork over time.

What is the WKRP Turkey Drop?

The Turkey Drop refers to the famous “Turkeys Away” episode of WKRP in Cincinnati where live turkeys were dropped from a helicopter during a radio ad stunt. This tee commemorates that specific plot point with the show’s fictional event title. The scene remains one of the most memorable moments in classic sitcom history due to its absurdity and physical comedy.

Is this an official licensed product?

No, this is a fan tribute design inspired by the classic sitcom. It is not officially licensed by the copyright holders of WKRP in Cincinnati but serves as a nostalgic homage for enthusiasts. The design captures the spirit of the show without infringing on protected trademarks, making it suitable for personal use and gifting among fans.

When did the Turkeys Away episode air?

The episode originally aired on November 25, 1978. Fans often watch it annually around Thanksgiving, making this tee a timely gift for those celebrating the tradition. The proximity of the air date to the holiday season has cemented the episode’s place in pop culture memory for decades.

Who should wear this tee?

This shirt is ideal for fans of 1970s sitcoms, radio history buffs, and anyone looking for a humorous Thanksgiving outfit. It fits well within GenX nostalgia circles and classic TV collector communities. The design also appeals to people who enjoy novelty shirts that reference specific cultural moments rather than generic holiday graphics.
