This, for sure!!! I got saved by my own move out photos when the Everybody’s An Ironworker Until The Real Ironworker Shows Up shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this agency claimed things where not done. Take videos too, but photos are much more precise than videos! You might end up swooping by an important item without thinking of it My last apartment before buying a condo had water damage from a hurricane. It was an older building grandfathered to the current hurricane building codes so leaked like a sieve in that storm. Landlord tried to take my deposit for the damages but I showed the photos and proof that I informed the management about the hurricane water damage. Got my deposit back thanks to that evidence. I’ve been in my rented property since last October. I’ve had no problems with my landlord, but my daughter advised that I take photos before I moved in of minor faults ( carpet stains, smashed plug socket, damp stains etc), so that I cannot be accused of causing them if/ when I move out. Obviously too late for OP, but good advice for if you’re moving into a rented property… Honestly I think it’s always important to remember that for the significant majority of landlord-tenant relationships they see you as someone who is a legitimate target to squeeze as much money out of as possible – which includes making unmeritorious claims against any deposit and trying any other trick in the book to mitigate or reduce their own costs while passing them onto the tenant.

The boiler is the Everybody’s An Ironworker Until The Real Ironworker Shows Up shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this landlords responsibility, so was all the things that weren’t working. If anything, I would have demanded he fixed things years ago Yeah so basically I can’t run the hot water and the central heating at the same time plus there’s a little pipe in the boiler that pops off from where it should be connected occasionally, the gas engineer was surprised the boiler was still going in the first place never mind that it still somewhat functioned but anyway, it never got replaced Yeah this is a terrible landlord. Just clean the place to the standard you would for guests you care about, take loads of photos just in case (but you’ll probably never need to use them) and look forward to never hearing from him again. Stop worrying about their headache and start caring for yourself, at least in your new place – a broken boiler and most of the other things you mentioned should have been fixed years ago.
