Even worse, if they did that there would eventually be a “Zoning Team Lead”. How mind crushing would that be? what I couldn’t stand is that one night for the remodel team they had us zone for 8 hours straight then weeks later they fired half of us for “not doing anything” like tf we supposed to do once we did the whole store like wtf i know this is a walmart sub but i worked at target just stocking shelves (domestics ftw) and honestly zoning was one of the more relaxing things to do. I’d snatch up a night shift just for zoning in a heartbeat lol I remember before I quit, they were forcing everyone to zone an aisle for 2 hours on overnights before they can go to work in their departments. This resulted in a very cluttered backroom with unworked freight that the morning team always bitched about each day. Even double truck nights still required zoning.

I don’t know if they ever stopped it but I’m pretty sure product that sits in the Edmonton Oilers Authentic Pro Primary Replen Shirt besides I will buy this back doesn’t sell even more so than product being in the wrong place or not organized… Fuck zoning. Yeah i worked at a grocery store prior to Walmart and we had people scheduled specifically to face/zone and it was all you would do all day aside from helping customers. Makes things look way better and keeps customers from bothering people who are busy stocking/picking/cashiering. I still don’t understand why I’m supposed to zone before I stock on ON? Wouldn’t it be easier/faster to zone after everything is stocked? We used to have closers for zoning and returns. That’s actually how I started. When they went to CAPS the idea is for each team to do a quick zone while you pack out. Also, anyone not Cap who works in the department is supposed to fix things as you see them. If you straighten 10 things as you walk down an aisle all day, it works fine. Trouble is that most people just walk by.
