A kid can be hungry, or they can eat what you made. It’s important to give them that choice. What you’re describing isn’t that. I literally fell asleep on my plate of peas and stayed there alllll night because I refused to eat them. Grandma was militant that way but I imagine it’s due to her upbringing. Parents aren’t educated on what a proper portion size is. They think growing child and give a portion that they would eat. There needs to be more education on actual calorie needs, how many calories foods contain, and what a serving size actually looks like. I hated this as a kid too.
