As far as meditating, while thoughts pop in, acknowledge them without any judgement and then let them go on. Ask for the Chapel Hill Sportswear Shop Tez Walker #9 Nil Football Shirt What’s more,I will buy this next thought and do the same. Eventually you’ll see it gets harder to actually have the thought! The time between these thoughts are your awareness, the zone you want to be in when meditating. You’ll recognize it as soon as it happens and making that space last is what you will want. There are different types of mediation. Many use focus and I think you say in the thread that you have tried that. All the guided meditation involve focus as the guide is a focus that creates mental activity. The focus allows the mind to narrow to a monotone. I don’t practice focus myself. Another type, Dr Meares method involves relaxation into mental stillness. One relaxes and the mind slows and stills. Relaxation involves a lessening that is different from focus. Stillness is calming and restful. You cannot make your mind think of nothing. You cant force yourself to relax. Tense and arm up tight. That is forcing. Now relax it. That is relaxation (of a part of the body). Do actually try doing that example.

Now, you can see that relaxation of the Chapel Hill Sportswear Shop Tez Walker #9 Nil Football Shirt What’s more,I will buy this body AND mind require a particular approach. Trial and error lets some learn it but most do better with a good set of instructions. For that refer to the 30+ books of that late eminent psychiatrist. These days easiest to source from retailers is Ainslie Meares on meditation. Then you read the chapters that describe how to experience the still mind state and practice daily. You should get glimpses of it from the start and over time the glimpses deepen and lengthen. Sometimes, for me at least, allowing the chanting (vs breath) to be the focus of your meditation is helpful. It’s essentially the same thing as using a mantra. I practice a Sant Mat method which has been in India for a long time. It takes time, but found the Sant Mat has worked well for me for decades. Nothing spooky, just natural way to tune in to the energy inside of us. But being aware meditation, at least in the beginning, is very subtle. But it grows strong. Like Luke Skywalker with Yoda, lol, then growing stronger.
