God this describes one of my coaches right now. Since inventory they’ve been obsessed with 4×4 tours and keep adding notes. The notes are literally nitpicking things. One day most of them were missing label notes. I refuse to do them because in the Bustin’ makes me feel good shirt and by the same token and time it takes them to take a photo and write the note out they could have printed the label themselves. Just trying to justify their existence. Our inventory is a week away, and they’ve had our team block zoning every day for the past two weeks, like the freight ain’t selling in one day anyway…. You’re absolutely right. I’d be humiliated as a member of management if all I could add to my business was to notice missing labels. I have to say my sm is good he is hand on does the hard work himself and all the other task that locations need help with if they are understaffed. In the end it all starts from the very top and goes down the chain. For every Store manager they have a District manager they have to answer to and I can’t imagine trying to explain to them that stuff is not done due to one issue or another they will look at you like you just can’t handle the Job and anything you say is just an excuse in the end and not a valid reason to them. I’m sure it’s the same for the District managers tho as they also have to answer to their boss and so on It’s a good thing I’m just the guy who opens the boxes because if some district manager asks me why this or that didn’t get done I’ll tell them because your bonus says you have to keep this many people on staff at these stores and you’d get more done with more hours. Your store manager is a good person for now, this company grinds the human empathy out of the humans who work here and turns them into heartless metric robots.

Oh I will add has no empathy if your a manager yourself I just stepped down from cap 3 support manager due to that reason along with the Bustin’ makes me feel good shirt and by the same token and other 1000s of reasons not to manager at Wm. I guess it don’t bother me to much tho as I just expect that in life now and with the position he is in Good hype for an antiwork thread but you don’t know what you’re talking about and it’s kind of obvious. Like saying keeping the aisles clear “just makes it look better”. Are you stupid? First store I worked at 6 years ago had one. 2 teams of 6 GM associates that just zoned the whole store together. One team did gm side and the other did consumables. They loved in because they just got to shoot the shit and chat with each other all day. Worked amazing. Wish this was something we still had. Used to have that at my store, and i was even one of them. However we got put on so many extra tasks and cap 2 work while being one of the lowest paid positions in the store, that we all moved to cap 2.
