So, I would outline the Beto Orourke Obama shirt What’s more,I will buy this timeline for doing this work and their evaluation process. Ensure you know EXACTLY what is expected of this role, when you are to be evaluated and ensure a decision is made by them within a time range you’re comfortable with. Also see if they will be retroactive on that salary from your start date in the role. Ask lots of questions – get the answers and get it documented ( even if you have to write the email yourself to say “to capture our conversation today, we’ve agreed to …). Good luck!!! This is all great….if it’s true***. Ask them for a specific timeline for when they will know if they are comfortable, a few months (3ish) isn’t unreasonable. Then ask for a specific list of things they want you to learn to do and what specific training they are going to provide to help Bridge whatever gap they think you may have, which is why they want to test drive you. They’re asking for more work / stress out of you for free, which isn’t a reasonable bargain at all. Tell them you’ll take the role on a ‘trial’ basis if they also ‘trial’ paying you what it’s worth. They can easily give you ad-hoc payments while you’re doing the trial to bring you up to what it should be – assuming they want to. If the trial doesn’t work you go back to your own role and the extra payments end.

Employment is a contract, and every contract involves a service provided for a consideration. They’re asking you to provide an extra service, they should provide extra consideration in return Get a timeline of expectations they have for you to meet, and the Beto Orourke Obama shirt What’s more,I will buy this pay they propose to offer IN WRITING AND SIGNED. otherwise, I regret at this time this does not meet my career goals. Absolutely do not do anything to do with managing your team without anything in writing giving you the status and pay grade to do so. My concern is that they were either too expensive and they are going to look for the first person to do it cheaper. Or they had unrealistic goals set and fired for under performing. Make sure that’s not done to you unless you get a raise and get your resume out quickly. You will never be able to recover the extra money you should be paid while they get comfortable. So make sure there is a signing bonus when then decide to finally pay you more. Take the promotion, tell them you expect a signing bonus and pay raise by a pre determined start date. to recoup lost wages for working in role without adequate compensation for said role. Have them lay out a clear and written schedule and plan of exactly their evaluation standards to your fit in the role and the expected time they will make a decision whether to promote you permanently or not, including a set date that, should they keep you there, they will give you a raise and title change. Make sure they sign it with a copy handed directly to you. If that’s not doable, don’t take on the job.
