I’m starting to think it isn’t enough, but we also pay when we’re on holiday or she’s sick. So she’s guaranteed that money regardless of if we cancel or she does for any reasonable reason. I pay £50 for max 3 hours as previously she would iron my work shirts, but now she normally finishes just over 2 hours. I provide all the Back to the Pokeball shirt besides I will buy this products. £70 for 4 hrs weekly and we provide products. (So £17.50 an hour). I recently increased it from £65 due to cost of living (I know it’s not much but it’s what I could do). We also give her a nice Christmas present. She travels quite a way to ours so I wanted to factor some of that in too. Our cleaner won’t take a pay rise so instead we save up what we’d like to pay her (an extra £2 ph) and give it to her at Christmas.

I also do this w the Back to the Pokeball shirt besides I will buy this money we’d pay her when we do a short notice cancellation, bc it feels wildly unfair that she loses out bc I’m unwell. I paid £25/hour nearly 10 years ago on the crappy side of Leicestershire for my driving lessons and my cleaner is a hell of a lot more useful in my life than he was I pay a £60 flat fee, twice a week. She cleans and tidies everything, does the laundry, changes the bedding, vacuums, etc. So, £120 on a normal week, 180 if I have a party or something I want help after. It’s a 4 bed terrace. She does a great job and I think I get a good deal. £17-20 seems the minimum,considering they are self employed, so no holidays, PTO, pension contributions, and they have a lot of unpaid time spent in going from one place to the other.
