I think you cannot force yourself to want to do something that you don’t want to do. Like, I want to meditate so that’s why I do it even though it might not be what I want to do at the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this moment but ultimately I do want to do it and make it a routine practice because I know it will benefit my life. It’s the same thing with going to the gym, for instance, I hate going to the gym; the hardest part is leaving home and actually getting to the gym, once I’m there though I do my workout even if I hadn’t wanted to earlier because ultimately I realise it will make my body stronger and my health better. Alan Watts said the only reason you should meditate is because “it’s a groovy thing to do”. Find something that you can be in the moment with.

A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt: Show Your Love with Style

Obviously, everything worth doing in life takes practice. But by doing a little bit regularly you’ll start enjoying it more. So whether it’s learning an instrument or meditating, do something groovy. Hey, hope you’re doing well! To start and make things easy for you, which you obviously would want, start doing things you enjoy doing. You have fun looking at the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this trees? Do that! You have fun meditating? Yes, do that. You have fun not meditating? Please, go on and not do it. You like to paint? Sketch? Dance, sing? Do whatever you want. Be a child and play in the park? Heck yea, please do that! Man even I wanna do it now. Feel every emotion you are feeling completely and totally because they’re YOUR feelings. Just do whatever the hell you truly want and be 100% involved. When it involves just you, you’re free to do whatever you want, I promise. Experiment telling yourself, I am free, I am love and I do what I enjoy doing. See how it feels. Tell yourself, I accept who I truly am.
Secondly, if you truly want to end your suffering, you must do a few things: find forgiveness meditations and forgiveness affirmations. And please read these affirmations and practice these forgiveness meditations multiple times a day for at least a week. To further help your progress, start a physical activity you enjoy doing. If you do these, you shall be doing it for yourself, not anybody else, YOUR experience of life will surely improve. Its a choice after all. Do you choose pleasantness within you or unpleasantness? That is a choice you have. I want to add that, mindful meditation is more about being aware of what is going on, and being intentional then anything else. Like, if you’re drinking a glass of water, feel the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this water in your mouth. Is it cold ? Is it warm ? How does it feel ? Meditation is not about sitting and thinking about nothing. Meditation can be done anywhere, at any moment. Lying in bed, relaxing, feeling the sheets on your skin, the temparature, the sent of clean laundry…etc.

If you lie on your bed awake and examine yourself thats definitely related to meditation. Start there and see what happens. “The practice of Metta meditation is a beautiful support to other awareness practices. One recites specific words and phrases evoking a “boundless warm-hearted feeling.” The strength of this feeling is not limited to or by family, religion, or social class. We begin with our self and gradually extend the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this wish for well-being happiness to all beings.” They say ‘recite’ but once you learn how to generate warm feelings of kindness inside of you, it’s always available without words. It’s a very healing practice. You know that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you feel cared for, appreciated, known, loved? I’ve learned how to generate that feeling at will as an antidote to negative feelings. Over time it’s helped me undo bad habits, soften painful memories, and shift my negative perceptions towards more openness and acceptance. If I find myself feeling blue, cynical, hurt, out of control, sending metta to others helps me get out of it.
Then quit. Meditation, university etc. just quit… To be honest, I believe you need to take a break. Just for a day, no phone, no gaming, no friends, no listening to music or studying. Just sit in a calm place (bedroom, park) and just be. Don’t force yourself to think or feel anything. Just be present. All the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this answers are there. You have to try and find them. Of course there are chill types of meditation, and it really isn’t required or necessary. You can stop anytime. Do whatever you want, however you want. The types of meditation and the studies point to the different benefits for most of the people they study. But if you aren’t willing to look those up, or try, what’s the point of explaining that to you? We are not a replacement for your psychologist, or here to try and fix you. So this isn’t helping anyone or supplying anything helpful for anyone.
You must train your will to accept doing things you don’t like. If you can not withstand the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this pressures that impose themselves on you, from both inside and out, then you will never build the will to persevere past the feelings and abide in a place of calm understanding. There is no mandate to do this. But if the first goal I would impose were I in your position is the bulking of my will to address the world’s obstacles. That will only come from inside you. Your first exercise might be to explore the world and find out why your will is important and ways to exercise it. Hint: You’ll benefit more if you did this research by reading books and not through survey of random internet strangers. Great advice. Through vigilant resilience you will build real strength and the belief in yourself to take on the things you are adverse too. You must be diligent and want it.
Nothing worth having comes easy in life. It appears you lack discipline. Since you don’t want to put in the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this work, I wish you well. But quite unfortunate that you came so close but yet so far. May you find the courage and discipline. Well find the person forcing you to meditate, push them off a cliff, and then meditate on your own terms. Seek out the practices you want. Literally nobody can force you to What activities bring you to the state of mind that Make you Want to “meditate”? -Do the activities that bring the spirit of meditation to mind. Make the practice of wanting/thinking to “meditate” your first practice. Simple practices can reveal more practices over time. Intuition is a life long endeavor. Breath meditation can be like balancing an essential element of life, your breathing. That is pretty advanced IMO.
Skills like flexibility are built over time. Look up @movementbydavid on YouTube or TikTok. The same concept applies to playing an instrument. Nobody starts out a master. Work within your capacities/strengths and you will be open to the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this path you choose to walk. Try practicing being present. When you wash the dishes, focus on only washing the dishes. If your mind wanders, bring it back to the suds, the smell, the feel. You can make it work with whatever you are doing throughout the day. Take a shower. Feel the water, the warmth, the sound. Meditation or being mindful, is a practice that can train your monkey brain. Keep it from hopping around and causing mayhem and suffering. Find what works for you. Not wanting to meditate its just a thought that you are choosing to give attention to thus making you feel a negative emotion about the situation itself.
You are not forced to do nothing you are the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this example if YOU choose not to study that’s up to u sure people can tell you to get on ur shit but make you do it I don’t know about all that the same w meditation this isn’t pressure but a lack of discipline,If im wrong lmk love to help!! Try gateway experience. It’s great for quieting ur mind. There’s even a subreddit dedicated to it… Robert Monroe gateway experience, u can get the tapes on the subreddit. There’s really no reason beyond falling asleep where you can’t have a mindfulness practice while you are laying down. Don’t lay down with the objective being to think, rather focus on your breath and coming back to the present moment again and again while not falling asleep. Of course, I would also recommend that you have a sitting practice that makes you cross the boundary of not wanting to do something and just doing it how it’s done for a few minutes a day to break you out of that cycle There is no “Meditation Police” watching over you to make sure that you follow the rules. So meditate any way you want. But that’s great about not changing your behavior when you are expected to. Let us know how that works out for you
No one is forcing you to do anything. Meditation is simply going inward to tap into your subconscious, your inner sensory experiences (what you see, hear, feel, taste, smell internally), and learning to concentrate on one thought/mental image. Therefore, you don’t have to sit a certain way or whatever. Just relax and notice what’s going on inside. Notice your reactions and impulses while you’re doing it. This process is also about understanding your temperament so it no longer has control over you. e.g. “I will not be forced to sit straight, etc etc” that emotion is controlling you and you’re avoiding something that’s not even harmful at all, so it’s not going to hurt you to do it, it just feels uncomfortable because you’re creating the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this discomfort. Does your mind also react so passionately to stop you from engaging in your vices? Not judging or anything, just demonstrating how one must be towards their own thoughts and emotions 😉 I give you permission to not do it. Do something else that brings you joy. Life is short. Do what you want and help others.
But life is full of things you must do that you don’t want to do. If you don’t do them, you will suffer, and the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this suffering will get exponentially worse as life goes on. You gotta find a way to just accept that you must do what you must do, such is life. It sounds like you’ve had experiences in your past where you were forced to do things you didn’t enjoy, and now you have a strong aversion to feeling pressured or forced into activities, including meditation. It’s completely understandable to have these feelings, especially if they stem from past negative experiences. However, it’s important to recognize that meditation doesn’t have to be a rigid or forced practice. There are many different types of meditation, and finding one that feels more natural and comfortable for you could be beneficial. Here are some suggestions: Guided Meditation: Guided meditation involves listening to a recording or a live guide who leads you through a meditation session. This can be helpful for beginners or for those who prefer a more structured approach to meditation. You can find guided meditations online or through meditation apps that cover a wide range of topics and styles.
Mindfulness Meditation: Mindfulness meditation focuses on being present in the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this moment and observing your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment. You don’t necessarily have to sit in a specific posture for mindfulness meditation; you can practice it while lying down, walking, or engaging in other activities. Movement-Based Meditation: Some forms of meditation incorporate gentle movement or exercise, such as yoga, tai chi, or qigong. These practices can help you cultivate mindfulness and relaxation while also providing physical benefits. Visualization: Visualization meditation involves imagining peaceful scenes or positive outcomes to promote relaxation and reduce stress. You can do this while lying down or sitting comfortably, allowing your mind to wander and explore different images or scenarios. Breathing Exercises: If focusing on your breath feels too restrictive, you can try alternative breathing exercises that involve different patterns or techniques, such as deep belly breathing or alternate nostril breathing.
It’s important to remember that meditation is a personal practice, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. The key is to find what works best for you and feels most comfortable and accessible. Whether you choose to meditate while lying down, sitting, walking, or engaging in another activity, the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this goal is to cultivate a sense of mindfulness, relaxation, and self-awareness. If you’re open to it, experimenting with different styles and techniques may help you find a form of meditation that resonates with you and aligns with your preferences and needs. Why even bother copying and pasting answers from ChatGPT? He could have gone to ChatGPT himself if he wanted an AI answer. He didn’t. certain postures or practices might remove hinderances and make meditating easier but are not “meditation” itself The last part is the true way to meditate. People wanna see it as something serious so they make it into a formal practice, but in truth it’s just about letting go and zenning out.
I recommend meditation to keep you in the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this present state. One becomes anxious when one gets ahead of thy self. Stay grounded in the present. Don’t dwell in the past this is behind you. Must focus on the present this is why one meditates! What kind of practice were you forced to do? There are many kinds of meditation. I recommend TM or NSR. Both are short, simple courses that anyone can follow for effortless practice that brings peace, happiness, and other good stuff. I fully comprehend and don’t have many ideas. Possibly reward yourself with something that everybody else would disapprove of but you like. Work off the defiance that way. “Need help”? Run with that. Future You could use your help. Some version of Future You is swamped, overtired, a hair away from raging or collapsing in despair. You can gift Future You slack by sitting and clearing out the mental inbox now. Think of your labor as a gift to someone you actually care about.
One of my friend is a teacher. She told me about this story of this dad who read everything about “positive education”. He learned to talk with his kid (he’s about 7 y/o) when he’s angry or sad and always avoid forcing him to do things he doesn’t like. One day in a karate class, all the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this kids were told to regroup and listen to the teacher. Eventually everyone settled down except his kid who kept doing his own thing while everyone was waiting for him. The dad felt a lot of shame. Turning 30 y/o myself next month. I always resisted authority but I’ve eventually learned that not everything has to feel good. The rise of internet and with it the rise of quick and cheap entertainment created this belief that unless you like doing it, then there’s no point in doing it.
My advice for you is to work on discovering what you want. When you can pinpoint exactly what you want in life, you will slowly learn that doing things even when you don’t feel like it will ultimately get you closer to your goals. The human mind needs reasons and beliefs to sacrifice things. Like try relaxing, on your bed, as you say, listening to relaxing music, if that helps. If it is slow, repetitive and droning, without any sudden changes or sounds, then that can help to put you in a meditative mindset. If you do something, try doing it in a slightly more relaxing and focused way. Like if you are multitasking at any point and you realize you don’t have to in that moment, then reduce the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this multitasking and enjoy the experience of the moment, where possible. Your attention does not have to be all or nothing on the breathing, or bodily sensations of the task at hand, you can just put a little amount of it there to begin with, and see how that goes. Doing so with a little amount of acceptance and consistency. Then it can be allowed to gather gradually. Doing this without ignoring anything else, I should add, just allowing other things to come and go if you do not need to focus on them at the time.
I Don’t Want to I Don’t Feel Like It: How Resistance Controls Your Life and What to Do About It by Cheri Huber is the A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this single best meditation book I’ve ever read and describes your predicament perfectly. Sounds like Pathological Demand Avoidance. You really don’t have to focus on your breath, sit up straight, or empty your mind. It doesn’t have to be taken literally. To answer your last question, no that is not meditation. What you actually need is a form of active meditation, which is much easier. Personally I am a musician with a whole range of instruments. If I pick up my guitar for example, I can play the same 4 strings over and over. This is called mantra. The act of playing keeps you occupied and the repetitive sound helps you eventually get lost in it to a state of no mind, aka meditation. Try it. If you don’t have an instrument, you could try yoga as a form of meditation, but it’s more work and not as fun, for me at least. Find a form of meditation that works for you and is enjoyable. Sitting down with your eyes closed is not the only way to meditate.
I’m fairly new, less than a month of doing it consistently (sometimes life happens), but it’s pretty personal. There aren’t really any wrong answers. Meditation isn’t necessarily a specific practice, but usually what people talk about are different sets of steps to get you into one state of mind or various states. All roads (as in all forms of meditation) lead to Rome, so to speak. Once you know how to do it, how it’s done, I can imagine you inventing your own ways to get into that state or a state you desire for whatever purposes you wish. So really, there’s no pressure. Does this A1 Valentine’s Tour 2025 On February 15 2025 At The New Frontier Theater Merch T Shirt also I will do this appeal to you? Do it! You’ll enjoy it. If you don’t, don’t. I wouldn’t say meditation in general isn’t chill, btw. I mean, I’m sure someone out there has some crazy meditation technique because it can be so varied, but it’s not all wild, and some people focus on a religious or superstitious aspect of it, I don’t discount these people or their experiences, but I do ignore them generally. It really is a personal thing. I would encourage you to do it. But no pressure, do what you want. But if it’s interesting enough for you to make a reddit post about it asking for it, figure it out, dude.
