I never liked this, but I remember as far back as the 8-bit retro gaming shirt in addition I really love this 90s this was a common thing for ppl to tip on the Pick Up orders. I thought it was kinda crazy 332 more repliesIf it’s a sit down restaurant or a bar, and they had to take time away from their customers to answer the phone, put in the order, bag up the order, and get it for you when you arrive, all while their sit down customers are wondering where tf their refills are and then tip less, than yeah I’ll leave like $5 or 10% of the order. But I ain’t tipping at frickin chipotle or the vape shop And they got to charge the same amount for the food as a sit down customer while you left no mess, no dishes needed to be cleaned, no table reset, no heat/cooling of the seating space needed to be done, no napkins soiled….etc. When I was a line cook at a bar we handled all that, the servers only touched the bag if we had our hands full and asked one nearby to hand it to the customer. I suppose it varies by the restaurant.

Last time I picked up at Dominos the 8-bit retro gaming shirt in addition I really love this machine asked me if i wanted to tip. Like bro you literally put my pizza in a box tf No. It’s that since the pandemic, the most ridiculous positions are asking for tips. I’m not gonna tip the Subway working for making my sub, because THAT’S THEIR FUCKING JOB. Don’t want to work for less, go to school, get a skill, sell drugs, shit suck dick for all I care. But you’re not gonna shame me into paying more, so their employer can get away with paying less. Yes, you can escape tip culture. Go to the grocery store and buy your food there. Make it yourself. That’s what I do and I don’t have to tip anybody. I used to work at Chili’s To-Go, and I was the person who answered the phone, took the order (or the call ahead or answer questions), had to package everything together (obviously making sure its accurate), ring it up and when you came to pick it up I would have to close out your order. A lot of people would tip but there were days that people wouldn’t or the tip would get stolen as I go into the kitchen to get the order together. So we did a lot. Pay was minimum wage.
