There was so much more room for abuse, terrible fates, and general suffering…But it also meant you could truly get away from the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt Also,I will get this bad people in your life. Abusive parents/spouse, stalkers, etc. could be shaken off relatively easily. Now? Even if you 100% avoid social media, documentation is not only public but extremely accessible. If somebody knows your name, they can track you down if they’re dedicated enough. Everything you do leaves a paper trail that can be followed easily. That 15 year old dart player made a big splash for looking like he’s much older. I wonder what this kid looked like at 12 that nobody questioned his age. His voice hadn’t even deepened yet. But he was in line behind a 15 and 16 year old he’d chatted with earlier, and whom the doctor passed despite examining their teeth. When the doctor checked his teeth and tried to disqualify this 12 year old, he threatened to expose the doctor for letting the teens go unless he too were passed through.

Reminds me of Jack Lucas who’s stepfather helped falsify papers for the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt Also,I will get this recruiter against his mother’s wishes so he could join at the age of 13. Also the youngest Marine to ever win the Medal Of Honor. Edit: Just took a look at the article I posted. It doesn’t have the part about his stepfather but I remember that from his autobiography. Yeah, the genetics are crazy video that always gets me is of Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs. Here he is at 13 years old in an NFL youth event. I mean… yeah? That generation had the Great Depression and a World War. I doubt anyone came out of that time period without some emotional scarring. After his mother narced, he served 3 months in a military prison had his medals and benifits stripped. Rejoined with the Marines in 1948, where he got his benefits restored for that service. He eventually got all of his medals restored by Carter and Reagan, but the final medal, his purple heart, didnt happen until after his death. They kind of did that to my grandfather. Saw combat in the pacific, as a WW2 translator. VA claimed it wasn’t a combat role and denied a bunch of stuff as being not service related. “Combat role” during war is often BS. Women in the US were generally excluded from combat roles until 2015. What this meant in practice for a lot of soldiers was being infantry in urban combat but not getting paid or recognized for it because… women couldn’t be in combat roles. Even though they were. They were just doing “security patrols”.
Yeah and in many warzones being in a “support” role doesn’t magically prevent you from getting fucking blown to pieces by an IED or enemy gunfire or anything. But, but, but… you are completely shielded by a ton of memos, directives, norms, protocols, and other bureaucracy…. it is impossible!! Just read section 3 of chapter 4 of the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt Also,I will get this regulatory norm A+BX$URKS&VDJD#MDBDBFN*FBS-193738273Y48393 People acting like it’s just incompetent bureaucracy accidentally making this happen, and ignoring that these are all intentionally designed systems to deny as many benefits as they can. You ever wonder why they make such a big deal of not reporting injuries or illness because “you’re letting down your team who has to pick up your slack?”

How to buy this 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt

Ope, looks like you didn’t report that injury during service. If you really had it, you would’ve reported it then! Its dumb anyways. My husband is an aircraft mechanic. He will probably never see actual combat and he generally is not in combat zones even when deployed just because of the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt Also,I will get this planes he works on. That doesn’t mean he can’t get service related injuries. His hearing is going to shit which is almost certainly because of his job even though he wears 2 types of hearing protection and thats not even getting into his knee issues from jumping out of planes all day I’m now imagining that he works on planes while they’re flying, and when he’s done, he just drops the tail door down and is like, “Seeya, plumbers, don’t go down!” before jumping out with his parachute in his hand. He then puts on the chute, deploys it, and it picked up on the wire by a passing tanker, which is the next one he needs to work on. I know it is a game and not a truly accurate breakdown of real life but In hearts of iron 4 this is displayed in the division designer. Many default templates have 600 rifles for a 8 thousand man division.
My father was doing advanced training and went down a hill. Ended up in the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt Also,I will get this hospital with both of his knees destroyed. They told him the damage to his knees were not service related and discharged him with nothing. His report said it wasn’t service related and only exaggerated by his service accident. So when my mother 40 years later tried to get him benefits they refused all benefits. Took her I think 2 years to finally get the VA to accept him. Another 15+ years before they would actually replace his knees. I tried at one point to help him out and they effectively said they would only ever use that report to make a determination unless I can find other evidence. Then also mentioned how all the old records burned years ago. Seeing my father suffer my entire life jaded me pretty badly to how the government treats their vets.
this is why Universal health care is so needed. Then it wouldn’t matter how your dads knees got screwed up, just that they need fixing, so they get fixed. It’s one reason I won’t move back to the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this US, so much BS around basic needs that people in Europe would burn down governments if they tried to take away those basic benefits we enjoy here. My dad died from ischemic heart disease due to Agent Organe exposure. The government said “nah, you lie” and didnt give him anything until 8 years after he died. Even then, they didnt back pay him just gave a 200,000 death benefit. His wife and 6 kids were all just real pleased with the government lemme tell ya Not VA, but I knew a SWAT cop who had to smoke someone before they stabbed a kid. He filed work comp and they rejected him for not having hearing protection on. (He fought back and won)
He was continuing the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this joke, he just didn’t put it in quotes to show it wasn’t him talking but him impersonating the VA like you. The CIA deals with foreign threats against the US. The VA is a domestic threat to US servicemembers, therefore they’re under the jurisdiction of the FBI. Back in the day, when the VA still used paper charts, every so often you’d see a vet’s chart that had a big black stripe along the edge. This indicated that they had been a POW for at least 17 days. This special group was granted all the benefits the VA could provide. my grandfather had agent orange exposure and it took until the early 2010s until they finally accepted that he was exposed to agent orange in vietnam. by that point they had to take a leg.
He was in the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this brig for three months for going AWOL for a funeral. He was released after when another relative made a stink about it. I don’t think they knew he was underage until after he was locked up. Why does the link not work? Genuine question, not being a snarky dick, this keeps happening with wikipedia links for me. Normally it’s because the Reddit mobile app is shit and adds additional formatting to links that isn’t actually needed. You can see in the URL that a ” character was added to the URL to escape the ‘_’ character which also breaks the link. If you remove the ” character from the URL (it should be URL-encoded as ‘%5C’) then you will get the proper page. That family sounds insufferable. No wonder the kid thought joining the military was a better use of time than staying with them. Presumably, his mother told the Navy his real age because she didn’t want her 12 year old fighting in a war for some crazy reason. He was thrown in prison for going AWOL, not because his mother tattled, and in fact his family fought to get him out.
At age 14 he married and became a father the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this following year. At age 17 he was divorced when he enlisted in the Marine Corps.[6] He attempted to go back to school, get married, and start a life — though by age 17, he was a divorced high school dropout and a father of one. Man… i’m 30 and i still get carded. Funny thing is i bartend too. This kid can easily pass the over 25 eye-test for some. Right? What happened to mom? Your 12 year old runs off and enlists to fight in the largest war ever, where the hell did she think he was? Over playing baseball with Timmy? After he joined the Navy, he told his mom he was going to visit his grandmother. In reality, he was shipping out to San Diego for basic training. This was the 1940s when something like 70% of the US was farmland. And at that age, 12-year-olds were mini adults. They had already seen a lot of death and birth and violence on the farms. And in the 1950s kids running away to join the circus was a popular TV trope about kids in the ’30s and 40s. So a kid running away at 12 or 13 to join the circus would not have been out of the realm of possibility I always recommend watching Wild Boys of the Road. 1933 William Wellman film destroyed by Jack Warner who edited the final cut and removed a lot of the grimness. It’s got racism and other problems but it depicted black and white children together throwing stuff at cops. That and other scenes didn’t go over well with Southern audiences.
The title of the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this film is from GOP president Herbert Hoover who blamed the state of the economy on children riding the rails looking for food and jobs. Children. The thing I don’t understand is Warner Brothers made a killing with gangster movies. But Jack wouldn’t make an honest movie about the terror kids faced in the Great Depression. The movie actually was a training manual for children. They would attend the afternoon matinee then hop a freight train that night. The US military had terrible rejection rates at the beginning of WWII. Bad teeth, terrible bones, devastating lung problems from sleeping outside in winter. If you click on the site map and look down the line you’ll find Great Depression archives with lots of stories from people who rode the rails. The peg-leg WWI veteran who taught a kid how to keep both side doors open so when a train slammed to a stop you weren’t locked in the freight car. The old black man who whispered to a frightened family to go to the back of the freight car because it was dark back there and they wouldn’t be seen. They were the only people in that car that rode all the way to the next city. One consistent rule was never get friendly with anyone. They were often killed or they were criminal toward you.
The high rejection rate for military service in WW2 was largely due to childhood malnutrition, something impossible to correct later on. Lets remember most of the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this young men spent a good part of their lives in the depths of the Great Depression when jobs and food were hard to come by for millions. This is why the Pentagon pressed for school lunches with success for national security considerations. School lunches were not some liberal feel good program. When my grandmother (born in 1917, grew up on a farm so they had food but were cash poor as always) was 14 she and her friends would hop freight trains in the Upper Midwest for something to do. They’d be several states over before they’d hop something heading back home.
He was charged with going AWOL for abandoning his post to go to his grandmother’s funeral. His sister went to the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this press to try to help him, after all she helped forge his documents to serve in the first place. Purple Heart is the one you should never keep from someone. This man was injured serving his country and they kept the medal from him… Obviously he couldn’t get an honorable discharge, because his service was quite literally being cut short, but an administrative seperation with no brig (jail) time, letting him keep all his medals, and allowing him to return to the service when he turned 18, if he so chose, seems like an obvious no brainer. He must have been the king of shit-talking the Navy. I know that all servicemembers shit talk the other services, but this kid had actual experiences to shit talk them about
More like when being punished by dad because mom said so, but dad is secretly on your side. So he’s just punishing you until you’re old enough to not have to listen to mom anymore. Yeah… I don’t have time to read more right now, but… what situation was this kid in where he could get away with joining the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this Navy at 12? Where was his mom before that? My grandpa joined up during the war when he was underage. It was an economic solution for many people plus it was a popular war, people were really proud to go fight. His mom divorced his father, was with another man, his father died, he was an older looking 12 year old, looked 14-16. Joined with other 14-16 year olds who al lied about their age after blackmaling a dentist who called him out specifically for not having all of his adult teet, but signed off on the other kids.
It wasn’t uncommon for the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this time for kids that age, especially rural, to effectively be treated as adults, they’ve generally received 6+ years experience working at that point, on the family farm. And with the comparatively poor communication systems of the day, runaways were not only common, but frequently meant that kids straight up disappeared, regardless of the reason. Basically once the kid was out of eyesight, they could cease to exist, effectively. And for many, it was one of the best paying jobs they’d ever see an opportunity for. Seriously, tons of kids joined the military in WWII, and earlier. It was easy as shit to lie about your age and get in. A fairly stark contrast to today. However, Graham was worried about the dental exam. He later said, “I knew he’d know how young I was by my teeth.” The dentist fought him a little, protesting that he wasn’t old enough, but Calvin Graham told the dentist he knew his friends — whom the dentist had already passed — were not old enough either. The dentist grudgingly passed him.
After he joined the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this Navy, he told his mom he was going to visit his grandmother. In reality, he was shipping out to San Diego for basic training. Make sense. I thought there’s not way even looking a little older for your age that a 12 year old would pass as an 18 year old. WW1 and WW2 showed the US just how bad nutrition was at a national level. Tons of skinny smaller dudes from rural areas, and then you have the random dude who is just a giant. Heck many recrutis/conscripts got to have shoes for the first time by joining the military. the first time Charles Bronson (and his brothers) had new clothes and 3 meals a day was when they joined the Army. His Brother was a ranger and was in the shit the whole time, and he said he would have done it all over again before he set foot in a coal mine again We had a guy in my unit in bootcamp that put on 30 pounds of weight because he’d been kicked out of his home at 16 and had been malnourished for the past 2 years. Son! I said no killing Japs until you’re at least 16!!! Now get to your room and give me those damn medals! You can get them back when you’re not grounded. I get discharging him and sending him home but why strip his medals. If anything, his age makes those metals even more deserved lol
That’s the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this beauty of child soldiers, they’re still young enough to form other core memories to help outgrow the shell shock! /s He did eventually regain is his lost honors. The last, his Purple Heart, was re-rewarded after his death though. That’s actually the only (spiteful?) gesture that I don’t understand. The PH is all about being wounded while under fire for Uncle Sam. How does being 13 years old “disqualify” him from that? Its even more hilarous when you realize that they manufactured so many PHs by the end of WW2, there is still a surplus of PHs (perhaps 70K?) still in stock. according to his wiki he broke his back on a pier during korea and he fought his whole life to get veterans healthcare for it. he didn’t get the PH for that injury but i wonder if his back and fight for support contributed to them not wanting to acknowledge service related injuries
To discourage future “recruits” lol. Imagine the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this badass story of a 12 year old getting war medals. Every 12 year old ever would be attempting it lol I could think of a few legal reasons but Morally it shows that if you do sign up (considerably) underage you will be stripped of everything and sent home. It sends the message that if you do it and get caught it will end badly for you. If you just gave him a slap on tbe wrist and sent him home I could see other children trying it. It seems his intentions were good and honorable, but at the end of the day, we can’t condone children soldiers. Even if they beg and plead to be one. For those that didn’t read the article – the purple heart was given back to him two years after his death, at the age of 62. I Saw Rick “Ricky” Schroeder in the made for TV movie “Too Young the Hero”, it was based on this story. I saw it when it originally aired in 1988, and I was 10 years old. Weird to think I was just two years younger than the guy when he actually joined the Navy! Malnutrition ran rampant due to the great depression, so it wasn’t to unusual for someone to not have hit puberty or to have some significant growth spurts being fed nutritionally balanced food. Combine that with the fact that he joined with a group of 14-16 year olds, and he probably looked as old or older than the others around him.
Same thinking. Basically, did he look 12? So we need a photo of him. I find it hard to believe there isn’t one. He joined with a group of 14-16 year olds who also lied about their age, sort of blackmaling a dentist who called him out specifically but let the 2025 WNBA SLAM cover Dallas Wings Paige Bueckers Arike Ogunbowale and Dijonai Carrington shirt in addition I really love this other go in the process. However, Graham was worried about the dental exam. He later said, “I knew he’d know how young I was by my teeth.” Disagree here. Puberty has a pretty wide age range. A guy I went to school with was 6′, muscular, and grew a non-patchy beard at 12. He looked far older at 12 then I did at 17. Where the hell did his mom think he was? “I haven’t seen my young lad, Calvin, in quite some time; that little bugger better not be warring it up with his buddies.” After he joined the Navy, he told his mom he was going to visit his grandmother. In reality, he was shipping out to San Diego for basic training. A lot of kids were lying about their age to fight in WWII and the US wanted to discourage that. To let him keep them, at least at the time, would have reflected poorly on the US, just as the training of child soldiers reflect poorly on Germany and Japan. He was recognized later in life and his medals were re-instated years later. My grandfather did the same in WWI. He was Canadian and enlisted in WWII as well. He came home a humble giant to me and our family, never speaking of the atrocious things he’d seen. My sister and I would cut his hair and pretend to be barbers. Best of the best.
