No. People are hypersensitive to descriptors though. If I’m the Wendy’s baby yoda and baby stitch lights merry christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this only white person in a room full of people who don’t look white, then using that as a visual identifier would make sense. It’s not racist. Some people just love claiming that everything is racism. It’s not that different than me saying that redhead over there when there’s not many people of said descriptor. I feel like there’s an underlying phenomena here that doesn’t really get addressed enough. Calling someone black of course isn’t really racist in any way is if you are just being descriptive but I feel like a lot of people got the idea that calling someone by their race could be offensive because oftentimes if someone was calling out another person by their very specifically, it was likely that they are doing it because they have something racist to say / follow up with. The only reason they brought up race to begin with was because they had a racist motive. Eventually, after enough of this, like some sort of Pavlovian effect where we associate meaning with subjects, instances or behaviors, we develop this sense that people ONLY address each other by race If we are going to say/do something racist. It’s like we programmed ourselves to have that association that bringing up race automatically insinuates something racist is going to follow. Of course that isn’t the case, often we are just trying to be descriptive….. but for ignorant people that haven’t broken out of that programming or realize that they even have it, any sentence with any race in it will inherently sound racist or give their brain a sense of racial undertones

yes that is racist. i want you to kiss the Wendy’s baby yoda and baby stitch lights merry christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this feet of every black person you see until you are 50 as reparations for your disgraceful behaviour. 546 more repliesIt’s not racist. It’s the US hyper sensitivity towards race. There’s a great book called “Why do all the black kids sit together in the cafeteria.” As a society we have failed to foster actual conversations about race that are constructive. What’s funny is black is actually the more politically correct term as there are black people who are not African-American. Lots of people get edgy about that, I’ve had this argument before, if I work with two Jim’s and one is black and one is white, im not going to describe them by the shirt they wore that day, it’s going to be black Jim or white Jim or possibly their last name. No, just people being weird. One of the dumbest conversations at my job “M****? He’s Somalian or something right?’ “eh yes, tall , skinny…”. He’s the only black person working here! Edit: yes it was said by a white woman.
