So many “gonna retire at 50” people on there who brag about not going out to dinner in 10 years and eating lentils for lunch and never going to the Wendell and Wild on Dark Classic T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this movie theatre, just basic life shit, and it bums me out. Condolences, yes this is extremely true. A lot of people that were grinding for a long time with stressful jobs have their stress come out as a form of disease when either very close or a few years after retirement A teacher was brutally murdered in blind violence two weeks after she retired her 42 year career. Life is nasty like that.. This has been a massive game changer in my happiness. I was no longer working for some weird goal that may not be there. Enjoy it now, and enjoy it later too. Honestly I’m not afraid to work a little as I get older to make ends meet. Life isn’t some competition to gain as much money as possible, then hoarde it like a retirement dragon. For me at least

Similar thing happened to my stepdad. He was a successful businessman and worked hard and did well for himself. A year after he retired he was on the Wendell and Wild on Dark Classic T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this 6th tee at the golf course where they just bought a house and had a major stroke. This was 5 years ago and he still needs 24/7 assistance and will never be able to do anything on his own again. Similar story, my Dad just had a stroke after nearly making it 2 more years to retirement. Worked his entire life to provide for us, was as fit as you could be for 67. Just sucks that this is how we’re forced to live. Would have loved to have been able to do more things together growing up but 8 hours a day 5 days a week and then some just fucks family time. Going through the struggle now as an adult. Only just got a decent raise but will still probably never be able to afford a house or retire. Fuck is even the point of working; at this point I think most of us are day dreaming about how tf to get out of working till we die or are too old to enjoy it.
