the Tom MacDonald Deathreats Canadian Rapper Songwriter T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this suspect was a mentally ill homeless man. in my opinion, there are a lot of people in this country who need to committed involuntarily, but our legal system doesn’t allow it. There was another mentally ill homeless guy who hurt someone on the subway and the news interviewed his family after. They were like “he was offered treatment multiple times but he always declined it… how can someone who sees things that aren’t there make that decision for themselves?” Yes. Often the family is powerless to stop them and some of these people live on the street because they have been violent to family members before or have frequently stolen or damaged their family’s property to an extreme degree. This is exactly why the homeless crisis and mental health are such a complicated issue. I hear people say things like it isn’t right to institutionalize people against there wishes, but I’m sorry we can’t allow for this in society. We must have systems in place to handle mentally unstable individuals who are refusing to medicate and accept help. They need to be institutionalized and they need to be medicated until they are at a point where they can be trusted to make decisions for themselves. It’s such a touchy subject and currently I don’t trust our leaders to create the systems in the most ethical way. No easy answer.

The reason those institutions were eliminated is because they were breeding grounds for the Tom MacDonald Deathreats Canadian Rapper Songwriter T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this worst forms of abuse, and were disproportionately used to silence women (even though men commit the vast majority of violent offenses). There’s really no way to eliminate abuse either, since organizations that remove people’s autonomy and place them in a locked room at the complete mercy of their caregivers will attract abusers by default. Yeah I’m not advocating for the asylums to come back. I’m advocating for mental institutions to exist with medical professionals who are well trained in today’s standards of mental healthcare. What we can’t have is people suffering on the streets, self medicating, assaulting people, defecating, leaving used needles, and putting the public at risk.
