Even then I think we can agree on something and it’s that I think the series has trapped itself on having to rely on humor and not removing it outright but toning it down would be a good idea. 2 hit the sweet spot for me. Handsome Jack was great, and the fight against Bloodwing was genuinely emotional if you played BL1. I felt like the vault had more of a point than in BL1. While the jokes were sometimes too crude and too meta, I don’t feel like they over stayed their welcome. I also liked the greater emphasis on the plot and characters, and how they weaved the first game so well into BL2. It genuinely felt like an escalation of the games.
