Have just bought a new car (new to me, eye wateringly expensive for second hand) it’s a bigger engine and ‘flashier’ than the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this old car, insurance £5 a month more than current with Aviva Mine has hardly changed either. Existing insurer tried to put it up by about 200 quid. Shopped around, got it for around 50 more than last year. I saw a graph and rates for the under 30’s have gone up ENORMOUSLY, for those in their 30’s much less but still and increase, but for those 40 and over it a lot less. We had that when my wife traded in her car in December, Ford and another garage offered the same trade in value, but Ford tried to do the pressure tactic of “I can only hold that price until the end of today as a manager special” – needless to say she went and did the deal with the significantly less pushy salesman at the other garage.
Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt: A Unique and Creative Design
The reason trade in is so cheap is because the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this dealership is taking on the job of storing it and then selling it (at an unknown date in the future when the price might keep coming down) and has to make a profit I don’t just want hair, a hair-line etc. I want my hair back. Same look, thickness, no compromise, no hidden areas, no avoiding brushing it in the wrong direction etc. That ain’t gonna happen, so I’m happier leaving it. You don’t just graft back the hairline, you graft the whole area. If done correctly none of what you describe is required. I got a 1.4 Fabia for 6.5k with 12000 miles on it in late 2020. However, it was ex-Motability and the dealer was quite open about the stains on the driver’s seat. “It doesn’t smell but we can’t shift it”.
I did 2 years in the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this motor trade and the hardest things to deal with were ex-Motab cars. Sometimes they stunk so bad and were do dirty the technicians just wouldn’t touch them until they were chemically treated. And tbh, I can’t blame them. That said, if you can get one pre-deep clean for a good price, it’s defo worth doing and getting it treated as they’re mechanically kept in order as per the Motab guidelines. Folks are hanging to cars they would have replaced 5 years ago because you’d be insane to get a new car on finance right now. Yeha I bought my current car in 2019, iv never kept a car this long but nothings worth buying anymore. I could actually be doing with a bigger car but I won’t downgrade to a total shitbox

About this Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt
I actually can’t afford my current car if I was to buy one in the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this condition I bought this one in. Cost me 17k back then, a similar age and willisge is now like 23/24k. That’s what this thing was new when if first came out I don’t care about the mileage I don’t care if someone scrapes it Already been on some massive road trips and if and when this one dies I’ll get another shit box Yeah, cars tend to work pretty well for a long time. I’ve never understood this incessant desire to replace your car, which is a tool, every 2 or 3 years. The core message is always, your life will be better/complete, you’ll get to be this kind of person, you’re gonna be so cool….but you have to buy this to get there. It’s quite funny really.
My 2008 ford focus estate with 230k miles is still going strong. I’ll be driving it until the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this wheels fall off Pff, just put more wheels on / reattach with duct tape. Gotta keep going till the chassis literally disintegrates. I really love how much of a swing and a miss that kind of marketing is for me. I know what I’m about. If I had a cool car I’d just look like a wally in it. Clambering out of the thing in the car park at Tesco on a rainy Tuesday. No amount of cool car is gonna give me the cool lifestyle to match it. If I look like a hot mess driving a Peugeot, I’ll look like a hot mess driving a Porsche. I don’t need to spend more money looking like the same hot mess. But…but…what about the shareholders? Why won’t people think about the shareholders? How else will they make money if people aren’t constantly buying new things? How can you be so selfish. I had to replace my car last year as it finally died. Was a total shit box that was slowly dieing for about 2 years. Spent the extra to get a nicer car with mod cons and its night and day. Yeah I’m more concerned about dings, but not too extreme as it’s still not brand new, seems to be a happy medium. It’s also nice not worrying if the car just won’t start one morning, so I wouldn’t go full on shit box unless you’re happy to get your hands dirty on the regular. All I’ve ever owned is shitty sub £2k cars and I have absolutely 0 complaints about them and the overall cost of owning them over the last 10 years
I bought a 1998 civic 1.4 petrol for £500, ran it for 3 years in which time it needed new wiper blades, servicing yearly for around £100 and a bit of welding on an exhaust component then I sold it for £500 My now fiance used her student loan to outright buy a 2007 Clio 1.4 (thanks mum and dad for paying the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this rent for 3 years). Horrible little car. When that finally had to go I had to fight tooth and nail with her that we weren’t going to buy new as a replacement. Was on the verge of doing a PowerPoint on depreciation and running costs. Managed to seal the deal by pointing out that she could have a nice 3 year old Audi with mod cons or an absolute shit tier basic polo for 60% more new. I like my cars too much, driving a shitbox would just make me sad. We should be able to having nice things working all week but the world’s determined to bleed up dry Like my insurance has doubled this year for no reason, nobody’s willing to beat it or come done. But my dad’s actual shitbox 1.5 diesel focus is even more expensive for either of us to get insurance on than my ST, there is no logic to it. Your insurance has doubled because there’s loads of shit drivers driving around in brand new, expensive and powerful cars they got on finance. actually id say its more down to insurance companies writing things off for no good reason, take a book on copart, stuff needs a wing and a bumper written off when its basically brand new
I asked a dealer about this last year and apparently it’s to do with supply chain issues for parts and repairs. I have no idea how true this is, but he told me that because if the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this huge backlog of orders, it can take in excess of 6 months for parts to be delivered. In the meantime the insurance company has to supply a courtesy car for their customer while they wait so depending on the amount of damage, it can be more economical to write an otherwise repairable car off than to supply a courtesy car for the time it takes for the parts. I don’t know how true it is, but my mum got a new mobility car in late 2022 and when she ordered she wanted a basic blue one. Told it was going to be at least 12 months wait – alternatively she could have the silver one on display in the show room. Given it was a mobility car, she didn’t have the luxury of waiting 12 months so she went with the silver. I was skeptical but only in the last three months or so have I actually started seeing the blue colour so that’s around 24 months since she ordered.
Not sure what the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this hell is going on with the car market lately but there really does seem to be insane backlogs for vehicles and parts. I’m planning to keep my dogshit ass horrible first car for the next 5 years due to prices. People got a lot of money it seems. I bought my first car about a year and a half ago (got my license a decade ago!), and it’s about 13-14 years old. My family tried to convince me to take a loan out to get a slightly newer model at the time but I’m glad I held firm and bought what I could afford for cash (under £4k). My family are not models for financial responsibility either! My sibling bought a £30+k car in the last year or two and keeps saying how I should get finance for my “next car” Everything I’ve read on here says it’s a bad idea! The mileage on mine is still under 90,000 so hopefully it’s still got a lot of life in it (and I’d hope so after all the repairs I’ve had to get fixed). Who actually has all this money? Hotels, food, cars, houses, I am about to get a mcdonalds breakfast and its going to be about 40% more than it was a few years ago. where is all the extra money coming from?
Doesn’t that sound doable now? In fact, when you consider that if you buy this BMW, you will magically spend your life driving deserted coastal roads like the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this rugged pioneer you really are, it’s actually a bit of a bargain Lol. Yeah it is more relaxing to think everyone is getting into debt and you aren’t just a pauper but it’s just baffling to me that things are double what they were 5 years ago. I don’t see how the economics works. At a total guess it’s twice the rate of inflation. And it isn’t even that easy to get large sums on loan these days as far as I can tell. The people with a lot of money are generally not buying new cars every few years. They’re usually the sensible ones with money. Whereas majority of people enjoy spending what they don’t have. Also the scrappage scheme killed off all the cars that would’ve been cheap second hand cars, put those owners in new cars and now what should’ve been a £500 banger from the 00s is a £5k car from the 10s.
Although you might not be in the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this market for a £500 car the person who is has no option but to buy the cars you want. I think they went up exponentially in 2022 ish, i was told something to do with electronic components for new cars. I bought a VW up from cinch just before the massive hikes, prices went up so much that a few months later they were offering me about the same money back in trade in for the same car. I did track prices for a while after out of interest and equivalent cars were going for 1500-2000 more. This is all me having a reckon, and based on my memory, so if i have it all wrong then don’t bite. This is fundamental principle underlying the current pricing. The other economic issues at hand are the level of pricing elasticity in the market and inflationary pressure. With an effective shortage in the market, the amount people are willing to pay stretches beyond their usual appetite. i.e. in a normal market, someone may be willing to pay 10% more than their perceived standard value. In a more competitive market, that can stretch to maybe 100% more. Perceived standard value for a buyer almost always lags behind actual value because humans aren’t great at rationalistic thinking. People who are more desperate than you for a car will be willing to pay more.
In addition to that, sellers are less likely to value their product at the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this same perceived standard value. They’re looking at a forward value, i.e. what they are going to do with the proceeds of a sale. Buy a new car? Contribute to the deposit on a house? Pay down an accrued debt? All of these have increased in value faster over the recent years. Is there any chance manufacturers are restricting supply to push up prices? I have no real evidence for it, but it sometimes feels like people are increasingly realising that supplying less for more still results in similar profits, but with a lot less hassle and overheads. Sort of. The pandemic caused a chip shortage and car manufacturers decided to use their limited supplies in their most expensive/profitable cars. They found in conditions where supplies are constrained, it was much more profitable simply not to make the budget-range cars. So in one sense, they have restricted the supply by only making higher priced cars. China has lots of excess capacity in it’s car industry and has started exporting cheap cars, but most places have high import tariffs on cars, so that’s kept prices higher.
In the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this end I bought a nearly new electric car using a bank loan (not lease or dealer finance). The monthlies were much much higher but the fuel was a fraction of what my petrol was, and the car is still under warranty for another 5 years. It worked out only slightly more than a petrol alternative, all-in. The depreciation on electric cars is atrocious, they are selling some at 50% of the original RRP that are one year old with less than 10k miles on. You are making the assumption they sold at RRP, they didn’t. Fleets/leasing companies buy the majority of cars and never pay RRP People will need to bear in mind that £7,800 of that loss is VAT as new cars are VAT qualifying and used cars are not but even if you exclude that a loss of over £10k in a year is ridiculous.
Where are you looking at cars? I just pulled up autotrader and there’s page after page of Ford Focuses for under £1000. My dude, my post includes a link to a £500 ford focus. There are dozens like it on autotrader. They’re under £500 NOW. The comment you’re replying under is £500 lol. They’ve gone up because fewer people can afford the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this big bucks, it’s not a huge surprise I just sold a 2004 Ford focus on 60k miles. Checked around a few sites to see what it was worth and it was about a grand give or take for a silver, 1.4 petrol, manual around that milage Right now? They have been crazy since 2020 and the chip shortages meaning older cars were much in demand. If it’s 3k in a private sale then offer what you think it’s worth (or whack the reg, if you know it, in WBAC to get an idea what they might get and use that as a guide for an offer). Check MOT history too for any warnings that can be negotiated down I had a Fiat Panda I bought in 2021 for £2.5k, about 45k miles. Some dumbfuck T-boned me at a junction last September, driver’s side door completely stowed in. Insurance wrote it off, it had 67k miles on it and they gave me £4.5k for it. Profit indeed. Half the issue is supply and demand, other half is some people being happy to pay 2% pension contribution and then spend £500 a month on a car. Edit: point proved, people out here advocating buying that £500 a month Corsa with a sound retirement plan of basically dying at 59.
2% is many people see they aren’t going to retire so why bother putting into pension which you aren’t going to be able to use to full extent before you die at your desk while your boss berates you for slacking. I mean, if you don’t put anything in a pension, retiring is going to be pretty difficult so that’s a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy isn’t it? Not entirely because government decisions about the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this state retirement age heavily influence the viability of a retirement topped up through personal pension savings. And annoyingly the government can also change the age you are allowed to access your private pension, which has never seemed right to me. The friends that made it are then split between health issues such as alzhiemers and dementia, and survivors of previous health issues such as heart attacks and cancer. Only my mum has made retirement without any of the above. When you see stuff like this happening around you, you can understand why people would want to enjoy themselves while they can. Well, if they’re pinning their hopes for joy and fulfillment on a brand new Corsa that costs a year’s wages, I wish them the very best of luck I just feel that people shouldn’t pretend that they “can’t” ever retire. For some it’s actually a choice to not actively save so that they can retire & to instead spend it on a new car or holiday.
For some there isn’t enough spare cash for either option, those are the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this people without the choice. Not those saying “woe is me I can’t retire” whilst spending it all instead. If you see enough people die in their 50s after working all the time, earning well and pouring their money into savings “for retirement ” it becomes clear you have to live your life and do what you want while you’re healthy enough to afford travel insurance. For me that doesn’t include a fancy car, but for others I guess it would I would imagine that at 2% pension contributions they probably would be right in thinking that they won’t be able to retire until very late. Kind of obvious right? Put less in your pension and you’ll have a smaller pot. I’m putting 18% into my pension and I’m expecting to be able to retire before state pension age. No idea what state pension age will be by the time I’m in my 60s so I’m making sacrifices now to sort my self out by then.
I know it’s crazy. My friend who is a Car mechanic reckons secondhand cars have held their price over the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this the last 3 years and are only just starting to come down now. He said this when I looked at how much my secondhand £10K Skoda Yeti I bought three years ago was now worth. Turns out circa £9,800! All due to the drought of new cars in the last few years due to the microprocessor shortage which inflated used car prices. It’s depressing. Ten years ago I bought a very good ten year old car that had ~40k miles on it for £3k. Now £3k only buys you a twenty year car with ~100k on it. Part prices are off the charts aswell one of my cars needs discs & pads can’t get anything decent for under £200 the main dealer wants over £200 just for the discs
2012 Hyundai i10 with 70k miles for just under £4000nothing else around me to beat it at the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this time it was mental. Don’t think I’ll live in an age of low costs or higher wages When I bought my current car 10 years ago it was 7 years old (2007 Astra 1.6) and had 60k miles. That cost me around £3k. Now the cheapest 7 year old car, that isn’t crap, that I can find within 60 miles of me is at least £4k & they all have a minimum of 90k+ miles. If I want at least a 1.6L engine or higher the prices start at £5k lol. I’m going to just keep pumping money into my current car as that works out much cheaper, plus my insurance is still only around £180-£200 per year. It’s a 62 plate Corsa with 30,000K on the clock. Turns out I could sell it for about £4.5K, I only paid £5k for it in 2018. Mad. Same with secondhand cameras. It’s insane that something I bought in 2012 for £100 is still worth the same money. Ancient cameras seem to be going up in price There is a lot more demand for older cars now as they have been built a lot better the past 15years and so are much more reliable. A 15years old car when I started driving in the 90’s was full of rust and at the end of its life and full of mechanical issues. Now a 15yo car will start and not be showing signs of age because of the improvements made in the manufacturing/ paint and much better tolerances in the mechanics As someone who sold their car last week, I’m a big fan of second hand car prices at the moment! Managed to get £1k more than I was expecting, regardless of a cracked bumper and more dents than I could count.
I totalled my Ford Fusion 2010 in May 2022. It already had a massive dent in the Steelers Love Xmas Christmas Tree Heart shirt and I will buy this back which I was quoted around £1000 to fix and now was caved in at the front completely where I crashed into a tree. Colour me surprised when my insurance paid out £3100 for the car. It had cost me £3900 when I bought it in 2018 and only had 30,000 on the clock then. Had close to 80,000 at the end. I heard the demand for old cars is really high at the moment, cheaper repairs maybe? More reliable? I don’t know but I know I still miss that car, best I had 🙁 Yep. I bought a second-hand car last week and looking round the garages I saw an S-plate Mondeo for £3,500. That’s a 25 year old shit box. Ten year old hatchbacks were £6-8k. The only thing under £2k was a Kia with a list of MOT warnings as long as your arm. It’s crazy. I don’t understand how some people are trying to defend the car market with the whole “there are loads of cheap cars on auto trader” lol yes you can get some cars for around a grand on auto trader but they are complete and utter shit bucket liabilities or in some obscure corner of the country. Before 2020 for £500 you could get something that wasn’t mint but also wouldn’t fall apart in the first 3 months
