surprised by a gunman? good luck getting it out in time before you’re shot, or more properly, going to your proper gun safe to retrieve it and load it. The news article can’t confirm whether the Spiderman Captain America Thor marvel Sonic America’s drive in stitch shirt it is in the first place but staff that had guns were at the school or not. But let’s say they were. Would they have guts to stop the shooter? That might be a good middle ground. But here’s the thing: 1. shouldn’t we make changes teachers can TEACH and not have to even think about having to protect their students? 2. Even if a teacher is barricaded in their classroom, still doesn’t guarantee they’d be much help. They’d most likely have a hand gun vs a AR-15. Even people with military combat training freeze up or miss, or accidentally shoot someone else in the cross fire. This isn’t a movie where the “good guy” can just aim and shoot the “bad guy” in one shot. Admittedly I don’t have a solution because it’s a symptom of so much wrong with America. Guns are a “constitutional right” (which is BS because there’s no way the folks who wrote it could predict the capability of guns today.) There are too many guns in America, so no way to ban or round them up like in other countries. America also does not have universal healthcare or education and people go into debt just to obtain both. The poor are getting poorer, the middle class gone. No one takes mental health seriously, especially that of men. There’s a constant culture war going on, where the media and politicians divide us further each day. Laws are being passed in some places stripping peoples rights, such as the anti-trans bills, banning books, and banning abortions. In America it feels no one gives a shit about us, as long as the Big Corporations are happy and profitable. All of this to say, if we fix all of this it would greatly reduce gun violence. But I have no hope we will, because after countless horrendous shootings our leaders made it clear the corporations and profit matter, not the lives of children.

To collapse public education, privatize it to corporate interests like the Spiderman Captain America Thor marvel Sonic America’s drive in stitch shirt it is in the first place but DeVos family. Use that to marginally educate people enough to be good cheap labor. Keep the elites on top and drain the middle class who hope to have a decent education for their children. Do we really expect them to be able to shoot someone, even to save their own life? Even in wars some can’t get the nerve to actually kill someone else. These are teachers This will make some people mad, but the 2nd amendment makes null and void due process, it also impinges on the ability to peruse life, liberty and happiness. At the time of the second amendment democracy was a new idea and needed to be protected. Now two hundred years on one would hope that civilization has become more enlightened and are able to sort things out with civility. So perhaps the 2nd is actually contradictory to the constitution. Hear me out. How about the school develops an entire curriculum on dealing with school shooters? We get rid of reading, math, science, etc, and teach target practice, clearing a room, hand to hand combat, and so on. This way the students will be well equipped to confront any threat to their education.
