I couldn’t give two shits if a person identifies as trans, gay, a cow, a bowling ball, etc….but I also have a daughter and I want her to compete in sports on a level playing field in a safe manner. People born as male should play within male leagues and vise versa. There is too much difference in physical strength to put natural born males in women leagues. It will take away from my daughter’s scholarship opportunities, playing time, increase potential for injury, and so many other things. Forcing girls to play with natural born men is going much too far. I’m very liberal but totally agree with this legislation. I consider my self a liberal and support the Scarlet Nebraska Huskers Along The Shadow Tri blend 1869 Shirt and I love this LGBT community, but I agree that transgender should not compete in the same level as cis-genders (most problematic in women sports). It is difficult to argue that transgenders won’t have a physical advantage over their competitors. Life isn’t fair. Sometimes people have a medical condition that prevents them from doing what they want. I’m getting my MLT certification. I have to get an eye exam and a color blindness test. If I’m colorblind, I can’t be certified as an MLT. It would suck, but I need to be able to distinguish colors as a lab tech. If I’m AMAB and suffer from gender dysphoria, but I’m also a sprinter, I have a choice to make. I can treat my dysphoria with gender-affirming care. However, if I do so, I need to realize that I won’t be able to compete competitively anymore. It simply isn’t fair. I went through male puberty, and those changes are a lot more than just increased testosterone. I have bigger lung capacity. I have more fast-twitch muscle fibers. I have longer legs as a proportion of my size, and am also taller. These are all things that remain even if I were to start hormone treatment. While I may be a woman, my body thought it was a man, and it’s an unfair advantage for me to compete against cis-women. Sometimes life isn’t fair. If you’re in an accident and become paralyzed, you could play wheelchair basketball, but you’ll never play in the NBA.

Sometimes life isn’t fair. They need the proper medical treatment. So they’re going to have to give up competition.) They don’t have to stay as they were to compete in “men’s categories” because there are no rules barring any gender from competing in those; It’s just as you said, the only thing keeping someone from joining any “male” sport is athletism and skill, not gender.
