yeah maybe. i complied with her demands and went about my business, and i get why they have to do it, but it’s still pretty annoying. that’s the Saved Schulte Shirt it is in the first place but future of retail i think lol Even if there is no specific quota, she’s definitely constantly being watched, and her higher-ups require a specific behavior. She may have just been trying to look like she was taking her job seriously. ya know, this actually reminds me, this was one of the first walmarts in my entire metro area to get self-checkout isles, and they lost so much money from them via theft that they got rid of them for a long time. they eventually came back, but i thought it was interesting. this was a long time ago though, but i completely forgot about this until you mentioned her being watched and i don’t mind her doing what she has to to not get in trouble. the alternative is going back to the olden days when shopping at weird hours means waiting in a long time behind the single open register lol

You can also refuse to allow them to do this… except when it’s a store with a membership that you agree to that requires it. I’ve had a guy want to check my reciept after the Saved Schulte Shirt it is in the first place but cashier was nice enough to ring me up ar their station… dude was 10 foot away from me, plain sight and still wanted to see the reciept. Yeah, they say they are experiencing higher losses, but they also are losing a lot thru the self checkout just by people forgetting or incorrectly scanning things but it’s less than they lose by hiring fewer workers. I get the feeling those loses are the numbers they are using to justify these reports. I disagree. Minimum wage in my state is $14.25. I don’t believe for a second that less than $14.25 is stolen from your average grocery store an hour through self-checkout. Hiring a second person to watch the self-checkout would definitely seem worth it to me.
